Gárgolas en Valencia

Hola steemit, hoy os traigo unas fotografías de un viaje que hicimos a Valencia, aprovechamos que teníamos que llevar a nuestra hija a ver un concierto en la Sala Matisse y teníamos todo el día para conocer esta ciudad, y nos pusimos a ello. Había estado en alguna ocasión pero siempre por motivos de trabajo, nos llevamos una agradable sorpresa es una ciudad moderna y a la vez con un pasado muy antiguo lleno de grandes historias.

Hello steemit, today I bring you some photographs of a trip we made to Valencia, we took advantage that we had to take our daughter to see a concert in Sala Matisse and we had all day to know this city, and we got to it. I had been on occasion but always for work reasons, we take a pleasant surprise is a modern city and at the same time with a very old past full of great stories.

Nos pusimos a pasear en dirección al centro histórico ya que la Sala está en unos de sus barrios, en esta ocasión las fotografías que he seleccionado son de unas gárgolas que están en la fachada trasera de la Catedral de Valencia junto a la Plaza de la Almoina donde se encuentra el Centro Arqueológico de La Almoina, en cuyo subsuelo se puede visitar los restos de la arquitectura Romana Visigoda y Árabe en buen estado de conservación.

Las gárgolas son desagües adornados con diferentes formas influenciados por los bestiarios medievales creencias religiosas y supersticiones aunque no todas cumplían esa funcionalidad, los que vimos están en la fachada de la puerta de La Almoina y son visibles desde el suelo ya que normalmente se construían en las torres o techados a gran altura siendo sólo visibles desde el cielo de la Catedral o los voladizos de acceso para su conservación.

La gárgola más conocida y fotografiada de la Catedral es esta que representa a una mujer que cómo se aprecia sé coge los pechos, su propósito es el de escandalizar representaba al pecado de la lujuria, y como lección de lo que no debe hacerse.

Otras muestras de gárgolas en la misma fachada de La Almoina, una representa a un personaje del clero con la mano en señal de bendición y la otra por el vestuario podría tratarse de un personaje público de la época también con la mano en señal de bienvenida.

Estas gárgolas que hoy podemos contemplar se empiezan a construir durante el período gótico de la Catedral de Valencia, se pretendía que fueran como un libro para comunicarse el clero con el pueblo llano y vigilado por la mano De Dios, se han contabilizado más de 50 entre la Catedral y La Torre de El Miguelete, seguro que la próxima vez que vayamos a una Iglesia o Catedral las miraremos de diferente manera.
Las fotografías las hice con mi smartphone y no pude fotografiar las que había en el Miguelete por qué no tengo buen zoom, la información la he sacado de las páginas de Google Maps del ayuntamiento de Valencia y de la página https://valencia.hypotheses.org/103 que hicieron un gran trabajo de estudio sobre las gárgolas.
