Thoughts, Words and Photos (Forty)

Life can get messy, life can get confusing, life can be painful. This is especially true when there are many people with many different views of how things 'should' be come together to gather in the same place.

Once upon a time when people were nomadic, small groups would be forced to work together for their survival and failure to cooperate would lead to failure of the entire unit. Everyone's survival relied on everyone pulling their weight for the betterment of the group. The problem comes though when the same concepts are applied to much larger groups as the same social bonds that made the tribe successful are not present in a town, city or country.

Here, we are a large community and even though we are mostly aiming for the same results of creating a successful platform, currency and way to earn, individual desires over that of the success of the group still reign supreme. The problem is largely the same as in a tribe though with pulling the weight.

If, people pulled their community weight here no matter their stake, a similar situation would eventuate where the community as a whole will benefit as the wide diversity of users will cover the needs of the many but, it will take time to see the results which is a problem as, people are very, very impatient these days.

Most people here unfortunately will not benefit from Steem but, they will largely have themselves to blame as most will spend the majority of their effort doing exactly what they despise in others. They will look short, they will be frugal with their votes, they will support a very narrow circle thinking that they will benefit before it all collapses. Perhaps they will but, even by doing this, most won't yet, they will have still played a hand in the failure of the group.

I am not saying don't look out for yourself to some degree but, to what degree, what limits will you push? How much cost are you willing to burden others with so that you can get a little more benefit?

A community can only survive for long when the members live by the code: one for all, all for one. But unfortunately, that can never be achieved at a full 100% commitment as long as we are still humans with personal desire. Therefore, the level at which this is followed determine the height which we could go.

I'll draw a little example from popular story I read from the Bible about the early children of Babel.
Here, am not arguing the authenticity of the story, but it goes a long way to explain what happened when our individual language (desire) deviate largely from the communal language. I only hope that majority of the people who engaged in schemes to game the system come to a realization that the long term of this platform will benefit us all that their individual short term gain. I wish you all a beautiful day.

But unfortunately, that can never be achieved at a full 100% commitment as long as we are still humans with personal desire.

It is about having more community orientated than not or at least, those who are adding more value than those who are taking. Not easy.

It is the duty of everyone to contribute, no matter how small, to the community. Wealth has never been the criteria by which people's contributions are judged. In most cases, it is those who lack, who see the need to grow the community. Those who have usually feel that the community needs them more than they need the community and with that attitude comes nonchalance and with that comes callousness and oppression.

No community can be built on the back of one man or woman; all the members of the community have to support each other. They have to put in the little they have; be it time, knowledge, skill, resources, so the community can grow.

At the end of the day, everyone will not be equal but it is a good feeling to know that there's a place that is as close to utopia as man can get without losing himself.

No community can be built on the back of one man or woman; all the members of the community have to support each other. They have to put in the little they have; be it time, knowledge, skill, resources, so the community can grow.

There are various ways to do this but, most act out of habit. Habit is what got us to this point globally.

At the end of the day, everyone will not be equal but it is a good feeling to know that there's a place that is as close to utopia as man can get without losing himself.

Equal is an impossibility, as is fair. We all have our own journey and we all have the same 24 hours in a day. The final destinations may vary greatly but how one lives is a marker that is only able to be evaluated by the individual.

Also the journey that one embarks on as he or she contributes to the community is also important. For as we connect, help, interact, we grow too and this growth is seen in the kind of persons we become after all is said and done.

Thank you @tarazkp Your words are important in life but also for Steemit. being new here I try to understand and your input can help us to see whats important. I guess we repeat what happens out there in real life, even more so important the voice of a higher vision, where we all can thrive

There is an adage in the Igbo land that says that when people pee together on one spot, it fumes...this adage tells us about Unity. It tells us that what one person's can't achieve , a community that agrees can achieve it.

The ant is a very good example of what a community that agree does. The ant, no matter how tiny they are, can lift about anything 5 times their Weight and size. This is because they always work in groups.

In the Bible. God recognised the power and strength in unity when a tribe gathered and decided to build a tower that would get to heaven. It seems impossible to the ear right? But when they started,God saw the unity in them and decided to divide them buy breaking their bond. He did this by making them hear and understand different languages and that was it.

A United community is a community bound to win and if there is division...they will never succeed .
