The Second Oldest Wooden Building in Korea, Mu Ryang Su Jeon of Bu Seok Sa temple
Many people have been visiting Bu Seok Sa to confirm the beauty of Mu Ryang Su Jeon hall which is serving for Vairocana Buddha. Before finding out the record of Geuk Lak Jeon hall in Bong Jeong Sa temple, Mu Ryang Su Jeon was believed the oldest wooden building. But what attracted people was not only its history but also the beauty of that building.
Especially the pillars were considered as having the best beauty.
At first I took photos of Mu Ryang Su Jeon from various angles.
It was a sorry that I could not take a photo of the inside of the building for religious reason. It was banned.
So I took photos of the outside of the building. Among them, the patterns of the window was very impressive.
The corner stones seemed the evidence that this building was made in Goryeo dynasty.
Actually Mu Ryang Su Jeon seemed the most beautiful among Korean Buddhist halls.
@slowwalker,
What I could see is, it's a very neat building! Looks so great and well finished! Nice photography and shared it's history as well!
Cheers~
I imagine the temple inside was spectacular.
A beautiful photo essay, @slowwalker.
There is something fascinating about buildings that withstand the elements and the ravages of time.
These structures become monuments - symbols of man's indomitable spirit and his struggle against time, death and mortality.
In the end though, we all inherit a stone, and at best can only hope someone cares enough to write upon it.
Have a good day, my friend.
Thank you for your generous comment.
Merry Christmas !

@slowwalker, Absolutely amazing Buddhism creation of Second wooden building in Mu Ryang Su Jeon of Bu Seok Sa temple. There are fascinating roof and window styles. You captured angles professional. Probably 3D looks indeed. Autumn surrounding area increase beauty of this temple. Unfortunately I can't watch inside of building coz it was banned. Corner stones same looks like another temples.

Amazing article, a landmark monument!!
Great to see ancient buildings still existing where as other parts of the world where historic buildings are getting bulldozed in order to make way for constructing hotels, shopping malls, spas etc just to impress their foreign friends.
