RE: Short Introduction to Mental Ninjistics - Dealing with Conflict
I loved that childhood story.
What a magical turn around! Definitely mental ninjistics.
I have a bully story from another perspective.
Gosh! I went to 11 different schools in 3 different states so I was always the ‘new pretty boy’ and I was a short arse with golden curls (said in Aussie accent). The girls would like me and I’d like them back and then the school bully would pick a fight with me. Every single school. All I wanted was to be accepted and liked like any new kid wants. I didn’t want to have to fight someone, but alas, that is what would transpire. The thing was, I was brought up on martial arts (thank gaaaawd) and unlike school bullies, who’d generally pick fights with small, weak, scared kids, I was forced to fight often and by virtue of necessity, I got good at it. So inevitably I would beat the school bully up. And then the new rule was that there were no bullies allowed.
But because I hated fighting I developed a new technique to avoid fighting, which I guess was a type of mental ninjistics, as you describe. When a fight was about to occur the whole school would surround the kids about to fight. I realised that they were an impromptu audience that I could perform to (instead of fight in front of). So whilst the bully would try to pick a fight with me I would just make joke after joke and crack everyone up laughing.
It was so much fun.
Oh the jokes that would come out! Hilarious!
And being a boy, I’d often dispel the whole situation by cocking my leg up and actually farting on the bully who would run off saying “aw you stink!” Everyone would be rolling on the floor laughing. Situation over. Hahahahaha...
Sometimes though, the situation comes in such surprising, shocking way from people we don’t expect that out minds get frozen and instead of mental ninjistics we can slip into some kind of mental spastics (for want of a better term). Lol!
Anyway, thought provoking video. Thanks bro. Nice to come back to Steemit to this.
Blissful blessings
hahahahah i love it Nathan... I have to say I've never resorted to jokes for mental ninjistics, but I will try to implement it next time!
