Entry for the Pay-it-Forward Curation Contest - Week 30
Welcome to the Pay It Forward Curation Contest, sponsored by the PIFC community you will find at @pifc! There you will "meet" a dedicated group of fellow Steemians hard at work on a weekly contest. Our goal is to find and encourage under-valued contributors of great content to our Steem blockchain.
To be selected, your post needs to have a minimum of 200 words of high quality, original content. And your reputation cannot be above 55. Pretty simple!
If you are reading this, perhaps we are looking for or have already found you. 😊
So, let's get started! My two entries for this week are:
Selection #1: ⭐ @cheekah (71.735 SP) ⭐
A favorite type of posting for many Steemians is entering a contest. These contests come in all "shapes and sizes," but they all have one thing in common. The opportunity to earn prizes!
An example is my first selection - @cheekah - who enjoys writing. She has made an entry into the #twentyfourhourshortstory contest of @mctiller - with her The Little Green Man post.
This is the story of a little girl. In trouble in the forest …
” She opened her eyes and screamed as she scrambled back.
It was a little green man! And he had touched her! “” She was afraid to look down...who knows if he had turned her green! She sneaked a peak at her palms. She breathed a sigh of relief when she saw all was in order. “
” She studied the man in fear. “
” It had pale brown eyes that seem to melt as she gazed into them. Its nose was pointed and large as was its mouth. Its arms had branches with leaves sticking out of it but it had little human hands. It was also naked! “
I won’t spoil the story with any more excerpts from it, but it is creative and very well put together.
If you enjoyed this post, you may wish to get to know @cheekah a little bit better. Here is her introductory post. In looking over her profile, I can see a fellow Steemian putting a lot of effort into creating great content. Hopefully she will win the contest she has entered. Why not win this one as well? 😉
Please give her your full support.
Selection #2: ⭐ @ojap02 (34.702 SP) ⭐
I have a soft spot in my heart for posts which demonstrate to me a great deal of effort has gone into creating them. Given what passes for a “post” in here at times, they really stand out to me. They particularly stand out when the author isn’t getting the attention and credit they deserve for their efforts – the point of our contest!
A case in point is my second selection - @ojap02 – and his post entitled Colors, vision and polarized light. I was first drawn to his post by a great image. On opening it and scanning through it, I was very impressed with the effort put into it.
As a Systems Engineer and University Teacher in Venezuela, he is teaching us about light and our ability to see colors. Some excerpts follow:
”What does it mean, then, that we see a body of a given color? Let, for example, be an object of red color; we see it with said coloration because only the red light reflected by the body reaches our eyes. And what happened to the light of the other colors? Well, it has been absorbed by the object. According to this, a color will be more pure the less the presence of other colors. In other words, painting a blue wall, for example, means having the wall absorb all the colors and reflect the blue.“
”Hering's experiences are simple; we can all do them Let us suppose that a disk is observed, which, for example, has a red color; If you keep the view for several seconds and then close your eyes, you will see an image of the disk, but with a different color, in this case green.“
”It is evident that Hering's theory combines the physical properties of light with the physiology of our eye. It is really impossible to understand the vision of colors if they do not take into account its two fundamental aspects: one, light and its physical laws; another, the eye and its physiological functions.”
As a scientific work and future reference for our Steem community, @ojap02 has put together a very impressive post. He also wrote the same post separately in his native Spanish, so he did double the work!
If you look into his profile, you will see he is putting a lot of effort into creating high quality posts for Steem. You may also be interested in his introductory post where he tells our Steem community more about himself – in English and Spanish – winning a Best Introduction award.
Please give this worthy Steemian your full support!
Thank you for investing your time to read through this post. If you haven't already, please visit the posts highlighted above and encourage these fellow Steemians in their efforts.
A big “shout out” and a sincere “thank you” to our judges for this week’s contest - @lynncoyle1, @tryskele, @headchange, and @viking-ventures! And to our great sponsors - @thehoneys, @bengy, @andrewharland, @el-nailul, @stever82, and @thedarkhorse!
All the best to you for a better tomorrow, as we all work together to build our Steem Community! 👍 😊
Respectfully,
Steemian @roleerob

Thanks for the entry, both bloggers have been upvoted.
Wow u gave urself some work with this entry. Nice formatting :)
Interesting decision by @cheekah to go with such format. I guess we all know it's hard to break thru here on steemit with plain writing. But I think it's actually a side-eddeft of Steemit. That it triggers creativity in us, even tho we don't really manage to get big payouts from the posts .
Thanks for stopping by @matkodurko and supporting my post. I really appreciate it!
I do put effort into my work, so grateful you noticed it.
Yep, written about it a lot, particularly in “The Challenge” section of an earlier post.
Absolutely agree. That creative spark is a big deal! It has certainly surprised me, even though I haven’t accomplished all that much “in here,” how much I enjoy writing. Didn’t expect that! 😊
Your profile says you are ”introvert living the life of extrovert”, so perhaps we have something in common there. I think for me communicating in writing is something which suits me better, although I can certainly communicate verbally, as needed … 😉
Thanks again for stopping by @matkodurko. And I especially appreciate you supporting these two Steemians! 👍
supported both of your featured bloggers, how can they have such a low SP when they're really good on writing? do you think that they didn't engage alot due to their limited RC .. so they just posting without a chance to post any comments on others? well.. many factors I guess, but thanks for sharing those great steemians with us.. I like the story!
Thank you very much for stopping by @cicisaja and supporting these good people.
Very good question on the effect of the low RC of folks like this. I know there is a lot of conversation in our Steem Community about this issue. Hopefully, someone is working on it improving the situation.
All the best to you @cicisaja!
Thank you so much for the entry @roleerob! They both look great; I agree with your assessment as well. It's nice to see when someone puts the time into a post; thank you for spotting them :) I'm off to have a closer look and give them a little support as well.
Thank you for stopping by @lynncoyle1 and supporting these people. Wish there was some way we could do more, but we’re at least doing what we can for them!
Out of town for 10 days in Texas, I’ve arrived tonight at my destination – Marriott’s San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa. Quite a place! The International Institute for Business Analysis puts on their annual international conference in style. Likely to be the last outing like this of my career …
I’ll be less engaged on Steem, as a result, but will do what I can. Until “next time,” all the best to you @lynncoyle1!
P.S. Slogging through three construction slow-downs and three accidents all afternoon to get down here on I-35 from Dallas, I logged in to be greeted by my favorite bot - @trufflepig – awarding my Update, Month 5 post with his #1 pick of the day! Nice boost to the spirits to end a long day.
Hi there @roleerob :) 10 days in Texas; we're headed there next week to see family, but Brian and I spent a few days in San Antonio a couple years ago. Love the river walk there; it's so beautiful.
We all do what we can here on steemit; some more, some less, but it is what it is :)
Gotta love trufflepig too!! Any kind of recognition here is always a pleasure.
Safe travels to you :)
Hey, very good contribution. I am pleased by the summary of my blog.
Successes!
Thank you @ojap02. Glad to know you found it satisfactory.
Us engineers should stick together (I am a Metallurgical Engineer)! 😉

Wooow, what a beautiful action. God bless you.
Thank you @kimabg!
There is a lot of talent that just needs a push, a support. very well
Thank you @wilebarrios!
Great effort as usual @roleerob! I will pay this posts a visit for support as well!
Thank you sir! There are so many Steemians putting in real quality effort to create content for our Steem blockchain, doing what I can to support a few of them. I know you are as well, so appreciate all you do!
