I still want to use this medium to appreciate my mentor for taking us through this course a second time, first with pattern making for ladies, now for men. I felt so excited seeing I can do what I always wanted to do online. The first task of measurements helped me see other areas where personal size measurements can be taken.

I got to have a detailed explanation on why the armhole, cuff circumference and back width should be taken to ensure a good patterning. I'm very sorry I'm posting this now. I was very busy in my dad's shop trying to sew uniforms with him to deliver to a school today.

I didn't have time to complete the task as I did work from morning till night. I struggled to create something if you checked my blog. I really solicit this. Now to the questions.....

Did you participate in season 20? What did you learn? What would you like to reinforce from the lessons of season 20?

I didn't know how to cut and sew women's dress. In fact, I had no knowledge on how basic measurements were taken and what part of the body should be measured when it comes to personal and industrial sizes. I was a full blown member last season and did learn a lot. In fact when I took it to a seamstress shop and did my practicals, she was confused as to the method I used in drafting a blouse pattern.

I felt I learnt something new, different from what is known and done in my area. What I'll love to reinforce from the lessons of season 20 is to keep on learning so I can make my dad's shop a unisex tailoring shop where women and men's clothes are sewn.

This would be a great feat for us to accomplish as that's barely seen in my area. Women sew women's clothes and men sew men's clothes. It would be a hit in my dad's industry, introducing women's dressing into the line. Reinforcing the lessons taught coupled with constant practice and learning from experienced people will help me achieve something huge.

Share the shirt model (own images) that you would like to make. Will it be short-sleeved or long-sleeved?

The shirt model I shared in my task 1 is the same shirt model i worked on for this task 2. This shirt model was for a personal sized individual. It is a uniform and that's what really took my time throughout the week because there was a lot to achieve as we had deadlines of Sunday. I worked hard with my dad to produce this uniform model.

From my sketch, I didn't put pocket and it was long sleeve but in the actual shirt, I put a pocket by the chest region, measured accurately using the normal size of a pocket for uniforms especially. I made the collar and standing collar and the cuff was made officially like a normal shirt where there's a sleet or opening that gives a v-shape.

After sewing the shirt yesterday, I didn't have time to put buttons but later put buttons and button holes this Sunday evening. It was really stressful for me. I thought of not completing this task because I was really stressed but it's better late than nothing. The following are features of my shirt model.

I did sew this shirt using 2 hours because of some factors arising which light was inclusive. To the trouser, the one I drew in task 1 is the same model pattern I used in sewing this trouser.

Share the model of trousers (own images) for men that you would like to make.

This is strictly for men, so I use the model below to cut the material of a customer and then sew it to fit. The model includes;

  • back pockets
  • Side pockets
  • And a flap in front.

It took me so much time working on these two trousers because of the absence of light and faulty machine. Anyways, I was able to come up with something that made a whole lot of sense. It wasn't a pencil trouser but a free one. I made used of lobes for belt though the latest model of trouser doesn't use belt and are styled in a way that the belt is made with fabric and a buckler.

These are my shirt and trouser models, worn in a way that fits me and would fit the person who wears it since it belongs to a customer. I ensured the thigh and waist measurements were all ohkay and that there are allowances for adjustments.

I invite @joslud, @dove11 and @victorlives to participate in this contest

I really admire the way you are willing to use the knowledge from previous season to make your father's industry offer productos for women.

In the other hand, I think it's great You share the shirt and trousers already made. It's very useful, since we can be aware of some important details regarding sewing these kind of clothes.

Blessings
