🎨 Bird Keeper
This is another one where subject of freedom is delicately knitted into story.
And again it's about how we think our freedom birds fly. But they don't fly freely ...they are captured, we are only given illusion of freedom.

Such a lovely piece, Dunja :) I remember seeing the birds being tethered to the necklace a long time ago and I remembered the feeling, which still re-occurs now to me, of our own unrealized desires, of our own dreams that we can't make true, because of circumstances and what not.... We all carry such necklace, I think, and I loved how this picture makes me feel at once desirous of wanting to set the birds free, but also realizing that there will always be things that we are bound to. Freedom can be an illusion, indeed.
To be personal, when I saw this artwork, I was reflecting on my desire to pursue art as a career but that I am way too comfortable and well compensated in my current profession in a corporate world, and I could set my bird free to brave the challenges of being an artist, but circumstances such as having a mortgage and other responsibilities have been tethering the bird to my necklace, .... I love pieces of art that makes me think and feel as your pieces are often do <3

O dear Spider, we are wearing same burden then. Just recently I took loan from a bank and bought my flat, living day job in a company also and dreaming about my freedom...
I had never been freelance, life just gave me that kind of cards..
But, I am currently working to set my birds to fly, hope I will be able to live that dream as a reality.

It is a beautiful design! the way you wanted to express freedom is very well marked, they do not have absolute freedom! you also made it delicate.
The girl's face reminded me a little of the Queen of Alice in Wonderland.
