Maya has been reading/research/viewing a lot of research about the microbiome and there is a lot there about how bad dairy and meat are for your gut and microbiome and can negatively impact all sorts of systems. I suspect this is at least part of it.

Definitely. Faster recovery and better strength gains as a vegan (compared to being vegetarian or meat eater).
