Anarchism is peace. Despite what you’ve heard, anarchy will lead to progress and prosperity, not chaos and poverty–which we already have, thanks to governments everywhere.

Anarchast, the number one anarchist show in the world, recently celebrated its 500th episode with one of liberty’s greatest champions: Dr. Ron Paul.

When I started this podcast back in 2011–nearly a decade ago–I didn’t always have the clearest idea of where it would go and what exactly was being built.

However, it’s evident to me now that thanks to all the remarkable people I’ve interviewed and befriended, the initial uncertainty and energy investment was beyond worthwhile.

In all honesty, this whole hosting and interviewing thing isn’t even something I’m naturally obsessed with or really inspired to do–but the value of education, friendship, and insight derived from doing this show has been well worth the grind.

So it’s with great excitement that I bring you the modern legend of liberty himself, the one and only Dr. Ron Paul, as our special guest on the 500th installment of Anarchast.

During our discussion, we covered freedom and tyranny in our era, how the state of liberty seems to be in constant flux, caught between “government” and the willingness of free people to stand up and fight.

“I hate to use the word dangerous,” said Dr. Paul. “I find [these times] so fascinating I’d be entertained, but because I think they’re so dangerous for everybody I can’t quite yet do that.”

Dangerous indeed.

Just recently the Federal Reserve announced plans to “run hot”, which of course means “print print print, inflate inflate inflate!”

As Dr. Paul explained in our new interview:

“Central banking is a failure and people are waking up to it… When you have inflation where you can’t control it, they have to resort to going back to using something that is honest.”

Elaborating, the Good Doctor goes on to say that there’s a bigger problem at work here, namely the dollar reserve standard combined with all the malinvestment and debt in the system, which has to be liquidated at some point–there’s no paying it back.

“That’s where the problem is: with the liquidation of debt. There’s going to be a few winners but mostly losers… there’s a lot of rich people that don’t even know anything about the Fed–they just make their money on a day-to-day basis–even in the 30’s a lot of them lost a lot of money…”

Being prepared is vital. Ron and I go on to discuss the violence of economic collapse and the various ways to protect yourself now and during the coming financial crisis.
