I became like a pro on health-related topics while I was pregnant. The food is good and helpful. But many don't understand and reduce intake or skip different food. But nature has so many alternatives.

Wow! You said 200mg and that's all I could say! Something I've found helpful for my own blood pressure (not chronically high, if that's relevant) is breathing exercises. Just slow, controlled breaths in and out through the nose. Of course, closing my eyes helps, and briefly surrendering to the nap if it comes. It helps me destress and focus too. Here's hoping your friend has a safe pregnancy.

Actually, breathing is really under-rated and under-explained as a blood pressure control natural health strategy. Great point. :)

Low dose aspirin actually raised my blood pressure. Dunno why. I eat bananas every day, but prices are different for avocados here: one is $2. Don't even ask about coconut.

Recently had a friend with this same problem. The doctors recommendation was to lower the sodium and put her feet up - rest. I wish she could have gotten some awesome advice like this. We make transdermal magnesium oil thats also loaded with potassium and calcium chlorides, but I'm not a doctor so she doesn't care for my advice, lol.

The whole "Drs know best" is a dying paradigm, thankfully. WE know best and doctors are only one tool, of many, to help us manage our own health. The leading cause of death in many western countries remains "medical misadventure". LOL...
