Some of my most favorite artwork has the grim reaper in it.
I'm not really sure why I love this type of artwork so much, maybe it's because the grim reaper is a reminder of our own mortality and the fact that death is inevitable.
Although I know things like the grim reaper aren't true, I love mythology and still like to believe that there is an unseen force which controls our fates.

I dunno but there is something about it I'm drawn to, like the more rebellious side of me.
Deep down I'm really anti establishment, and really more of an anarchist at heart. Although I don't do bad things I still have that side of me.
This is why I love Dark Country.
Dark Country usually has lyrics of a dark nature, which I love to listen to.

Dark Country is perhaps not the most well known genre of music, you can tell that by the number of views most of the videos I share have. So hopefully I can unite some of you with a new genre of music that I love.
As with all my music series I share, I get some really great feedback.

I love Alison Krauss. She is tops - very talented. She has some very good songs from the movie "Oh Brother, Where Are Thou."
I highly recommend the movie. It was a lot of fun and great music.

I have noticed from your previous Country Music Series posts that you included a few tracks from the series Sons of Anarchy. That show had an amazing soundtrack with a few original songs and amazing covers!
I am not sure if you are familiar with folk, but this one is one of my favorites and it has a gothic feel to it. I heard it many years ago, then again on the O Brother, Where Art Thou Soundtrack, but this one, was heard on the show Supernatural. "Oh Death" by Rising Appalachia

They are one of my favorite bands!! Just missed them when they were in Adelaide recently!

☠️ Blues Saraceno - The River

 
I really like this track from Blues Saraceno.
I think that chain sound effect is really neat and gives you the impression that your walking with chains on like you have just broken out of prison or something.

I like the way the track transforms about half way through too.
I find the stuff from Blues Saraceno has a real western/wild west feel to it.
 

☠️ Extreme Music - Wanted

 
Here is another great Dark Country track from Extreme Music.
This track really makes me think about the outlaw lifestyle. This track also makes me think of the days before the industrial revolution. Back when we traveled around on horse back.
Deep down I wish I could have lived in that time, life must have been a real adventure if you were an outlaw travelling around from town to town.

I love the use of the harmonica in this track, it kind of has a blues feel to it and the lyrics are really cool too.
 

☠️ Danny Farrant & Paul Rawson - Monsters and Demons

 
Here is another great Dark Country track by Danny Farrant and Paul Rawson.
I think everyone can relate to this track, as we all have those bad days. Those days where you try to keep the demons from getting out, but no matter how hard you try to fight it they escape.

I love the way she sings this track, she has a great voice.
