How to motivate yourself to work out! 10 ultimative tips for beginners!

  1. Wear workout clothes
    If you're having problems motivating yourself, just put your workout or running gear on. You'll feel pretty silly if you change out of the sportswear without acutally beeing running or working out.

  2. Remember why you started and focus on your goal
    Remember your real motivation reasons, for example, would you like to wear certain clothes that you have not dared to wear since your weight?
    Would you like to fit into a nice, tight trouser and look damn good? Or maybe you want to be fitter to play with your children, just to enjoy life better and not get out of breath so quickly?
    The reasons why you want it so much, will help you to stay focused and to stay on track.

  3. Write down your feelings after each workout or run.
    Write down how you feel after the end of your workout or run and take a look on it when your motivation is going down. This will help you remember the incredible feelings of happiness you have felt, and the chances are high that you will crave for this Moodbooster again and then you will know exactly what to do to get there.

  4. Try out community fitness in groups
    The group dynamics and energy will help you not to give up so quickly and push you more. During hard exercises, you will be able to get more out of you,because you will not want to be the first one who gives up. You will also be pleased to see the group members and the coach again.

  5. Ask yourself if you're going to regret your planned workout?
    The answer will most likely be yes. If you are, for example, at the gym, tell yourself that you can stop immediately as soon as it becomes too hard and when you start to regret it.
    This will calm down your mind, so you will start your workout and you will not end it before you are done, I am sure.

  6. Surround yourself with motivation quotes and sayings
    Hang up your favourite quotes or sayings on your mirror, on your refrigerator or on your car mirror. You can also write down your goal and do the same as with the sayings. This will be a constant reminder to work toward your goal.

  7. Find a training partner
    You can motivate each other and help to defeat the inner pig dog. In addition, your training partner can motivate you for better performance in sports, because if someone stands behind you and cheers you on, you give everything you got and more. Another advantage is that you do not drop the appointment with your partner as easily as one with yourself.

  8. Schedule your workout routine
    Plan your workouts in advance and enter the dates with exact time in your date calendar. Then you can plan all the other activities around it without having to drop your workout.

  9. Listen to interesting PodCasts while running
    If you have problems motivating you to run, start by listening to an interesting PodCast while running. So you will have to work out the next day to see how the story turns out.

  10. Last but not least, find a sport that you really enjoy!
    Because without fun you will suffer from lack of motivation, so you tend to give up faster.
    I recommend to find your personal favorite sport that suits you. For this purpose, you can try different sports and check out what is fun for you.
