الكمية الغذائية المرجعية (بالإنجليزية: Recommended Dietary Allowances) المعتمدة لفيتامين د هي الكمية الكافية للحفاظ على صحة العظام، والأسنان، والتمثيل الغذائي للكالسيوم في الأشخاص الأصحّاء، وتختلف هذه الكمية باختلاف عمر الإنسان وهي كالآتي:[٣] الرّضع من عمر (0-12) شهراً يحتاجون إلى 400 وحدةٍ دوليةٍ. الأطفال من عمر سنة إلى عمر 60 سنة يحتاجون إلى 600 وحدةٍ دوليةٍ
