I like to upvote other peoples comments.. that encourages their interaction with me.. and I vary the weight of my upvote according to the value of the comment..
Seen this a Lotta times.. There's this user named @damarth... Commented on an introductory post and gave a smaller upvote weight.. And then upvoted his comment to $40+
Hahahaha... 😂.. I bet someone flagged the hell outta him... Saw something similar the other day, the spammer replied with "great photo, thank you," on a post that had nothing to do with photos. He was so flagged his reputation dropped
Both of the worst I've seen were contained in the same post which was paying tribute to a passed friend. One left a link to his recent post about praying for people dying in a war torn country and about humanity being shitty or something, and the other was someone who spammed "Beautiful! This is a great post! Amazing! Follow me!"
yes i do that often, but flagging hurts me to isn't it?

Sure you can vote on your own comments, but voting them with a higher weight than the post you're voting on is a bit frowned upon in my opinion.
It kind of depends on the length of the comment and the content of the post of course.
Agreed. It's annoying seeing somebody did a tiny upvote on the post and then a 100% upvote on their own comment...
Sometimes I want to down vote content I don't like, but i'm worried i might get abuse. Can people see my down-vote?
Yes, this is all done on a public ledger.
Yikes. I don't like the idea of being seen down voting. I can imagine getting a lot of problems for doing that. How does the site tackle spam?

Just my two cents...I upvote my articles but I do not upvote my comments.
I feel the posts are of quality...comments are for the author...I let him/her and the other ones commenting decide if it warrants anything.
Same here. It's a free market. People will decide.
For a post you've worked hours on, 100% upvote is totally justified.
Absolutely....no reason not to upvote yourself in that situation.
And I dont think many on here would argue that one.
It is the "thanks for posting" when people upvote themselves $3.25 and then dont even upvote the article that drives people nuts.

Flagging doesnt hurt you at all. It is simply a downvote and removes the amount you downvote equal to that you would have upvoted.
For example, If your 10% upvote is worth 35 cents then a 10% downvote would remove 35 cents from a post.
Also if you have a higher rep than the person you will remove a little rep of theirs too
One warning however, it can hurt you as a side effect if the person you flag gets pissed and starts flagging you back
