Flying a Navy P3 Orion for the First Time
Im an Aircrew Operator in the USN. I'm not a Pilot, but I do fly and operate electronic equipment during flight. Sometimes during training flights, if you have a cool Pilot on the crew, they will let you take the controls! This is Me, on my last deployment doing a bit of flying over Sicily in the Mediterranean.

Hey Steemians, just thought I would share a bit of my life. This is some of things that I do when I'm not scrolling through posts on Steemit, researching Crypto, or my most important job, being a father. I am also in the U.S. Navy as an Active Duty Aircrewman (Aviation Warfare Systems Operator). I found a clip of when I was flying a P3 Orion on my last deployment to 6th Fleet. This was my first time behind the controls. Since then, I have a few more flying hours under my belt. Now, I am a much better stand in Rookie Pilot. Let me know what you think! I would love to hear from other Navy peeps, or Veterans, in the Aviation community. Leave a comment!

I always envied you airdales a little. As a surface ET, I remember being surprised when I met some fellow 2nd classes who actually enjoyed their jobs.
I started out in the Navy in Damage Control forward deployed out of Sasebo, Japan. Shore Duty as a FTS at a Reserve Center, and then back to Sea duty as an Aircrewman. I can definitely tell you that out of the 3 side of the Navy that I have seen, Aviation has the most Perks... For both Maintenance and Aircrew. However, all of them have there positives and negatives, like anything else. I can tell you that I do miss hitting ports with my old ship! That was always a great time!
Forward deployed and an engineer? That's some serious misery right there.
I was on the McCain in Yokosuka (ten years ago). The recent collision killed half of my former division, although I didn't know any of the men there now.
Yeah, it was a tough 4 years. I remember complaining a lot when I was onboard. But now looking back, I honestly can't remember any of the day to day BS, I just remember the good stuff.
Aircrew is always in the limelight, good group of guys, a lot of ground support goes into Orion flights as well.
Yes, there is a ton of work to keep those birds in the air. Especially true with P3s. lol Its a combined effort with both maintenance and aircrew.
That's wild. I don't know what is scarier boats or planes whew godspeed good sir
Thank you! I guess it would depend in which area we are operating to figure out which is a little more sketchy. lol
Man, this makes me extremely jealous. Choose your rate choose your fate I guess.
Hey, were you in?? What was your Rate?
Still in, MT (Missile Technician since I know more surface guys aren't familiar with my rate). Thumbnail is of me chilling on a sub.
Awesome man! Maybe I've flown over you a time or two. We do lots of work with you guys.
Great stuff!
Hey! Thank you. I appreciate the upvote.
Oh My God. It will really enjoyable to fly High in air right??. 😊😊 . I wish to found a job related to airport. 😊
Hey, thanks! Yes, that is one of the great things about my job, the beautiful scenery.
