Obviously the past happened as it is the past. The better question would be how much of the past do we actually know and how much of what we know is lies told to us by the ruling classes. History is written by the victors so anything that we have learned needs to taken with a pinch of salt.
Everything that we know of the past are just stories written by people. People with biases and with ideals.
There is evidence of the past all around us. If it happen exactly as recorded is probably a better question!!

Yes, unless we are all in the matrix then its all just a simulation.
Past and present is a human construction. Time doesn't flow as we think it does, it's actually our way of percieving changes in the universe. Days are not a repetitive process, every day is entirely unique and different becouse of the way the earth and the sun behave. My point is time doesn't actually exist, and there is not such a thing as a past, or a future. There is only the universe and the way it changes around us.

Yes!!! defenetly!!
Time the way we see it is a human construct so what we consider the past is actually still very much the present. We've only been around for a small amount of time and in the grand scheme of things, it cannot even be considered the past.
I don't think the next generations of humans will need to be as savvy in archaeology as we had to be to look at what previous generations did because they would have AI and access to a massive neural network we call the internet that would do a pretty good job of piecing together the current human condition and how it progressed up until where they are now
