Luckily for me, I don't have too much of an issue migrating back and forth from Steem to Fiat work so I'm probably lucky there, but I 100% agree about burnout. I've been feeling it for a while and have had a really tough time coming up with new content to put out there.
Try challenges and contests. You get good visibility, new idea, and new connections. Here are a few people that make lists of them. You will be shocked at how many there, and and how diverse they are.
Most of these update daily or less frequently so you need to get the most recent one.

Sometimes the spam on this platform is ridiculous. The only productive way I have found to look at the spam is to just take it as a compliment that you have created something with enough value that people want to leech off of it somehow.

Samples of what goes into the work that you do for your clients would be great posts. I know I’d enjoy them. You’d be killing 2 birds with one stone so to speak. You wouldn’t have to reveal everything. I’m sure your clients wouldn’t appreciate that. Lol. But snippets of sample work would be awesome. Just an idea big buddy. : )

It's not a bad idea, but so much of what I do is dry and painfully dull. You're right about a lot of clients being protective of their projects - a lot of them are employee instruction animations - or business-to-business explainer videos.
Today I'm illustrating a burrito character for a client, haha... that could be a post I guess. Then again, I don't know about mixing work with Steem, I want to be able to bad-mouth clients without them being able to trace me, haha...
I hear you but what YOU find dull and dry...we may find interesting and actually learn something. I think you'd be surprised of the response you'd get.
I'm sure you can find a way to take a dull gas company illustration and put an "adult" twist on it. lol
Maybe take a few ideas that were turned down and have your followers come up with slogans. Or partials of completed ones to fly under the radar. idk Just brainstorming. The burrito dude sounds classic!! lol : )

Your the man bro haha I think you right on the money with your mindset. Freedom and discipline are hand in hand. It is sorta counter intuitive that the harder, more efficient, and consistent your work ethic is, the more financial and mental freedom you will have!

3 arts, 3 timelapses, 1 article. 7 illustrations would KILL ME haha... I may sprinkle in some pencil sketches here and there, but I'm really relieved. Looking forward to a solid plan for the next round of posts. I'm still really tired today.

Crazy to see famous youtube guys migrating over, online tech magazines like Engadget, the prices are down a bit, but it's a great time to build a foundation here.
It's a group that I take pride in, it has a lot of members but they are all level-headed people... you have no spam there and everyone knows each other - I dont accept beggars and spammers and I reward people who contribute.
What's the unique thing about it?
There are a lot of projects running in the background, but the embassies are what I'm promoting now.
I believe STEEM is a cooperative platform, rather than competitive, and I want to promote this in communities as well.
The Empire has embassies for each community that wants to set up one there and each embassy has the leader of said community or a representative as an ambassador.
All members of the empire can see the different communities of the blockchain and directly talk to their leaders, so people can through there join communities of like-minded invidivuals.
Instead of having a community that is isolated and competing with other communities, I have a community that is all about cooperation and actually promotes every group on the blockchain by giving them voice.
So far we have embassies for:

The STEEM Engine
SteemSilverGold
SteemitBC
and some others are in the works.

Its very normal to have conflict between our commitments and burning desires. Everyone suffers from this dilemma but we have to prioritize to gain maximum out of our resources and energy.
Every one has the burning desire to get best out of his time and abilities that is only possible to plan as you have already mentioned. We humans do feel in our thinking some ebb and flow. Sometimes we are very up with energy we create amazing content other time we are not satisfied with outcome of our potential.
I appreciate your opinion and suggestion. I hope you will come out of 9 to 5 monotonous routine and start enjoying your freedom as you are already faring well on this platform.
Your emotions are so similar to mine. I also have a severe competition for time between Steem and my day job.
I also try to follow a similar tentative routine where I socialize during the week and try and post bulk of my content on the weekend.
Well, I have just started doing this as I am so new to Steemit. Hopefully, I will figure out a balance and one day may be that balance will no longer be needed.

Emotional burnout is inevitable in cases where you work a lot and have little rest. You need to be able to get distracted ... but I understand you. When life is presented with opportunities, no one wants to miss them.
The most important conclusion is that reaching a certain point of development (like you), you must prioritize.
You have been organizing your lifestyle with steemit!
That's something I need to work on too...
