The challenges of settling in another country

This whole idea of getting a job in another country looks very fancy and people think it's a very rosy picture. I never understood this psychology till I myself moved to another country for work. My friends think now I am rolling in dollars.....haha. That's true that we take up overseas job opportunity only when there is a good pay package but that does not make life easy. There are so many other challenges to face when you move to another Country. Yes, you will earn but you have to pay a price for that. It comes as a cost and nothing is a free meal in today's world.

When I shifted to Muscat, loneliness is the one thing that hit me the most. Imagine being in a new country with no one that you know and it's like starting your life all over again. You have to make new friends, get accustomed to the life, follow the rules of the land, follow the traditions and some of the culture of the new place. There are things that will need to be sacrifice. Back home there are celebrations happening and you will not be a part of that. Looking at the pictures you will feel all the more miserable.

But then you have to decide for yourself what's important for you. Me and hubby had some big goals and for that we had to make a big move in our life. Today we see our goals getting fulfilled and all the sacrifice we made looks worth it. To gain what we wanted we had to give up a lot that we loved, but when we evaluated what was more important for us, then it was our security for life.

When life brings opportunities to us, we need to take it because that's for our good and at the same time it will also take away something from us.
