Goosey Goosey Beers!
Ding Dong! It's Saturday o'clock!! And that means beer. Lots and lots of lovely beer.
But what can whet the whistle of a splendid beer cabalero such as myself? Why surely beer aged in bourbon barrels might do the trick! Oh yes and spectacular botanical beers...!??
Well, that last one sounds a little suspicious so let's fire in and see.
It seems to be collaboration season with the brewery's. This beer is from my favourite brewery of all time, Tempest, teaming up with Electric Spirit.
Well I hope I get some sparks, it claims to have: Himalayan pink salt, coriander, bay leaf and Kaffir lime in it...
What the fuck, does it think it's a Thai curry? Let's see!
Oh look at that, such a delicate pale gold like a leopard's labia. I hope it's as smooth!
Hot donkeys!! It's lovely, salty, sour and zingy of citrus lime. I really like the lingering salty background on the aftertaste.
Mmm, mmm! I like it and as video man says it's perfect for a sunny day. This beer has saluted the summer nicely! 8/10 booms.
Well, if the last one was a flippant summer beer the next one looks altogether more serious. I love bourbon barrel aged beers. When they are done right they are the Badgers pyjamas!
A relatively new Glasgow brewery this one, I haven't tried any of their beers before. Fingers crossed they don't let us down!
A proper rusty looking thing, like an old tramps shoe. The head, just a tickle of froth which quickly runs away.
I have a good feeling about this.
It's very smooth. Malty with a touch of caramel to it. The bourbon is there, very subtle. Like a pleasing linger on the back of each mouthful.
Very well done Merchant City Brewing, I commend you! This one is a cracker. It's strong but you can't tell and you could easily quaff three or four of them and not notice until you woke up in a French maid's outfit with a feather in your mouth.
8.5/10 booms!
A highly successful weeks tasting. I am a very happy man. To the Moors I say!!
Cheers everyone!
"...A goosey goose in the nether regions...", doing what!? Hahaha, ah well, the imagery I got from that was enough to lose my beer focus.
Have a sunny sunday mate!
The sun has gone but a happy Sunday it is and the same to you mate... With sun of course!
Thanks mate!
Awesome to see you on video man! It's my first time seeing you on tape. Now you are real real!
Hehe, I havent yet managed more than thirty seconds! I am getting there though! :OD
oh my this is awesome!!! Lol, I don't drink alcohol, but love the post, your writing is hilarious, and you are super funny on camera! That blue sky is a bit suspicious though...I think you tricked us with some after effects magic sky replacement right? LOL kidding. I mean here in Arizona I am used to that sort of thing, pretty much every day. But don't you only have clouds in the UK (I am assuming you live in the UK, haha)? haha again kidding. Anyways, love your post man!
Ha, cheers mate!
Well that is why I was so ridiculously happy. The clouds were gone and the sun was out and it is not the most common occurence in Scotland. We are known for the grey ceiling perpetully above our heads!
Cheers man!
I bet, yeah that did look like an amazing sky!! :) What was the temperature? and what is the average temp like in Scotland during summer? lol I guess I can always google it. Anyways one of those countries on my bucket list for sure!!! I have a little bit of Scottish Ancestry as well. Some day I will make it there and film some cooking episodes! haha
Hehe, today we maxed out at about 21 degrees centigrade! Mental eh ;O)
TO be fair it was 30 odd last week and the week before. But this is an unusual summer.
Ah, you should definitely do that. Cookery and SCottishery all in one!
wow 21 to 23 is perfect! like my favorite temperature. You can wear pants or shorts, long sleeve or short, and be comfortable. Some day I will get there for sure!! I also want to tour a lot of castles all over the UK. :) I am a sucker for castles. My dream house would be a castle, well on the outside, then nice and modernish on the inside. lol I need to make a few more posts here on Steemit, before I can afford one though...LOL
It is quite a perfect temperature.
I am a sucker for them too, the are some beauties to visit in the UK as a whole. I am like a kid when I am in one
That is so cool! Ok confession time, at my old job (which I hated) lets just say my lunch breaks went longer then they should sometimes, I would spend my time looking at castles that were for sale and just castles in general. lol So many cool ones out there. Here is one I had my mom water color for me. Eilean Donan I believe it is. Someday may I will be able to visit this one. It is not necessarily my favorite style of Castle, but love the location!
Ah the famous island one, yes indeed. It is very very beautiful and looks amazing when it is slightly misty and grey bizarrely!
My wife likes it when I read your posts out loud with by best John Cleese voice. "Leopard's labia" made her giggle.
Hehe, tis exactly how I hear the writing in my head!
A good week's tasting! Could you please put one of each in the fridge for me, please! I had a hard week!
If I knew you were coming I would have more than one in that fridge! :O)
No problemo! I'll slide by the store and bring a few more!
Wayhay! Now you are talking!! Huzzah for cold beer!
Hotter than the hubs of hell today! Cold beer is what we need.
It was pretty hot here! And we are cold compared to everywhere else! :O)
Everywhere seems to be having really hot weather...
The end times ;O)
Two weeks in a row with 8 plus out of 10 booms!!! You are on a beer scouting role my good fellow!!! I would be a little nervous about the beer with all the odd herbs like coriander but it passed your test so I’d be game. I had to laugh as you continued your chuckle as the beer started flowing into your mouth. Thought you might choke on it. lol I skipped the beer today and went straight to the rum!! It’s a pirates life for me!
I do like it when I pick the good ones. I put a brave face on it but the shit ones really piss me off!
Hehe, I thought I was gonna choke on it as well!! heheheheh!
Get in there with that RUM! AAARRRR!
Oh they both sound great. I'll take a bottle of Are Friends Electric, though, as it's dreadfully hot outside and the citrusy, salty description sounds right thirst quenching.
It was very thirst quenching, so much so that it's odd that you just want more and more and more!
Alright already @cecicastor! How about a six pack? I've been cranky for days and I think it might be dehydration. We can split it and still have some left for Boom.
8.5? That's darn respectable.
I find that a few beers always helps when you have a bit of a crank on. That's the figurative you and not you personally obvs it would be a bit weird if I knew that, like I was living in your attic or something!!??! LOL :O)
Oh yes! The rumor mill would really be cranking up!
As if they don't have enough to talk about. Beer here! I think that will work nicely with my attitude today. Make it two so, it's been a day.
Two is a fine number, Its just enough to make you think... three? lol :O)
:) Danger! Two it is!
Long awaited day of beer, today we have prepared for the night, beer and cold cuts to share as a family.
Judging by the scores of 8 and 8.5 it was a great tasting dear friend @meesterboom

I'm a bot. I detect haiku.
What a happy Saturday indeed! I got a song to get my party started from Ouzo and Outttt, and now a fantabulously mouth watering beer review from me boom- so manly and rugged...those beers, hee!
Hehe, yes the Stones are awesome! The beers equally so. A very good choice this week!! :O)
