1980's & 2010's United

First, we can look at that, study that, the culture, the history, how things have been. However, on the other hand, we can also ask questions about whether or not it is better to become helicopter parents as some parents did in America in the 1980's for example similar to how many parents have been in the 2010's in Vietnam. Two cultures share the same kind of pattern.

Trends Beyond Cultures

When you study history and culture, you will find that it does not really depend on culture in some ways as certain things are seen in many cultures around the world at different times at different levels in different ways and sometimes in the same ways and you can find exceptions and generalities to all of these things. I believe in reducing all kinds of welfare, be it federal or even parental, as much as possible. I believe in encouraging independence.
