Vlog 199: The Weiss Rating gives confidence to investors that the STEEM blockchain is worth and safe to invest in (compared to other cryptos).
Out of the 3 things I have done with my SBD in the last weeks buying STEEM was by far the best one.
Since yesterday the price of STEEM has gone up around $2 when the Weiss Ratings news hit.
If you don't know yet, Weiss Ratings is an agency that has rated 75 cryptocurrencies and STEEM is in the top 5.
This is great news.
Of course, we already knew that this Blockchain is amazing. (3-second block times, no fees, scalable...just to name of few) but for investors not sure what to invest in this rating gives confidence in the blockchain and that's incredibly important.
There are so many different projects out there and this rating will act as an investment guide.

I sometimes wonder about Steem as a going concern. On one hand, it's an innovative approach to social media, on the other hand, the community seems to want to eat itself like an ouroboros.

in my recent post about why i love steemit and steemians i did reiterate using what my people usually say that if you play any tune in a compound of a great man, there is always someone to dance to it. steemit has good, bad, ugly and when money is involved, the humn nature as you rightly pointed out sets in. but hey, its also good for the system to point out the ills and fight it out so we become the best we are destined to be as steemians. heading to your blog. great comment

Steem has kind of got me hooked... in a good way..
I find it a good challenge. The more I learn and unravel about how to use this platform correctly, the more I find myself wanting to spend here. Not sure if its the best, but its definitely up there. Current system is a bit broken and needs tweaking but the concept behind it is top notch. People profiting off self voting, whales flagging for no reason with rep and rewards disappearing, etc. I understand that its supposed to be a self governing system, but there are issues that need to be addressed.
Yeah, it's a tough line to balance between decentralization and power abuse.
The biggest indication for me is simply that people USE this crypto. The platform is brilliant, the community is fantastic....Sure there are problems but long term, I see a huge future.

Yeh it was great to see Weiss take into account the fundamental strengths of STEEM and just how much it's REALLY used. It's still way undervalued compared to other crypto but it's nice to see those ratings give the price a nice boost in the right irection.

Could have something to do with it, it would be foolish not to take it into account. I'm sure the fact that STEEM has a large community of people really using the blockchain helped get it a good rating

Completely agree! If the price goes to 10 bucks or higher, great. If it goes to 1 buck. Cool...I'm still using Steemit and SBD / Steem every day regardless. It's brilliant and the rest of the world is slowly catching on.

Well said! We have to take this stand when talking to people about STEEM. I don´t think, that it´s a good idea, to market STEEM solely with its earning potential. There is so much more to it, people have to know about!

Absolutely. The network capacity and transactions being done blow everything else away. It's not just a concept in progress, we have a working product. That is really rare in the crypto world right now.

I agree like anything else when things grow there will be things that need to done to make it work better Steemit is still young and has lots of more to grow.
I agree. There is value in utility and having proof of concept utility. I would hope more investors will be interested in the Steem platform and see what other functions we can add to the platform.
I think the more projects we get up and running the more it will go up. People will have way more opportunities to get exposed to it the more applications are built.

Yeah that is what Steen/it need's... People believing in it, along with slight improvements and more content and investing for the long term ( more people buying/ holding than selling)
