RE: Is She A Gold Digger? (A Very Complex Question)
This is a super-hard question.
As in, most women's first desire would be to look at a man's 1040 before deciding whether to go out for drinks.
Hypergamy is a very strong drive in women. They are looking to marry up. Marrying at their level... she will be disappointed with the marriage from the word "I do".
So, I woman is looking to marry up; always.
But what they consider up differs from woman to woman.
Some like the rugged DIY types. They see this as house maintenance for life.
Some like the salary-man
Some like all the bling.
What gets me most is that women have a very poor understanding of money.
Some of the wealthiest people drive ten year old pickup trucks. And that is usually how they became wealthy. But, women will look at a leased (or even rented) car and her interest level is completely based on that.
Women love big chunks of carbon. Even though the resell value of such is often pitiful. 100-1000% mark up. Worse, women will complain if you actually try to get them a ring of real value (from a pawn shop).
I can make beautiful pieces of furniture, clothing and hand bags.
But, often, what a woman wants is just the name tag.
She is looking at the price tags with sparkles in her eyes. I am looking at the shoddy construction and have to leave the store before I burn the joint the joint down.
I hear ya for sure. The whole wedding ring thing was a marketing ploy and I have always thought expensive jewelry is ridiculous.
I think for some women it is an internal struggle for sure. Do they pick the most genetically superior man to breed with or look out for themselves and go for the comfort of material possessions? I just think it would be ridiculous to "fake" it for years or decades with a man who they aren't sexually attracted to.
There are a lot of girls out there who aren't gold diggers though.
There are for sure. But it is impossible for me to put it into words what makes a woman a non-gold-digger.
However, as much as I have been raised that a man pays for the date, having a woman pay for part of the date is of critical importance. Because it makes them invested. It shows that they are not their just for free food. It shows that they have some money themselves.
And... I didn't answer your question.
The female doctor is not a gold digger per-say, but she is looking for a man that is above her pay grade. So, she is looking for that neuro-surgeon, or maybe an investment banker. I don't even think she knows what an entrepreneur is. I am 90% certain that she will have a child and quit doctoring (or at least part time)
I am sure, if you told her, I am an entrepreneur, her response would be something like: That's nice, that you are an entrepreneur, how much do they make?
I get your feeling as well of not being able to put it into words. It is seriously so tough to determine where the line is between a gold digger and a non-gold digger.
About the female doctors. It would financially make sense if they just dated another doctor but you know what I have heard from several of them. They aren't really attracted to the male doctors. They are then pulled in two different directions. They want a guy who is attractive and athletic but most of the time they aren't going to be able to make as much as a doctor busting out 14 hour days at the hospital.
I do see a lot of female doctors end up having kids a few years after being a doctor and then drop to part time. They give up their 20's and then they have the window between 30 and 40 to basically have a kid. It makes it kind of tough for them for sure.
I will say this though. The least gold digger girl I ever met was a doctor. The reason I say that is because her earnings were through the roof and she wasn't high maintenance. She never asked how much I made or anything like that and we were around each other enough for me to tell she wasn't worried about it.
