RE: A Short Insight on Overcoming Hardship

in #life7 years ago

Thank you for your article and making me aware of it. Yes, resilience is an important topic that is very popular at the moment in the world of psychology. I don't want to disagree with this view, but maybe add another and for me even deeper topic. This whole notion of "what doesn't kill you, will make you stronger" and part of Nietzsches philosophy runs very deep in our society. It operates within the presupposition, that the "goal" is to become better and overcome yourself. I have a totally different view on that. What if you don't need to "become better" at all? What if what you are and what you experience in your life as hardships, are not lessons, that are here to make you better, but opportunities to love yourself more the way you are? These is my take on the topic of hardship. Blessing!

Thank you for your reply! : )

And could it not be said that learning to love yourself more is a form of becoming better? When you come to love yourself to a greater degree, you naturally come to take better care of yourself, a consequence of which is becoming a better version of who you already are.

Yes sure, this could also mean to become a better version - it's just in my experience, that this is a natural progression and not something planned or willfully enforced. ❤️

I appreciate your input, would love to see you stop by more often!

Looking forward to more of your work as well : )
