Tennis Elbow? Try this quick release at home
[Forearm Extensor Release]
What is tennis elbow? 🎾
Tennis elbow a.k.a lateral epicondylitis is a condition where the outer part of the elbow 💪 becomes painful and tender💢. This is commonly due to the overexertion of the forearm extensor muscle group which has failed to heal🏥 due to repetitive use. And no, you don’t have to be a tennis player to get tennis elbow 💻🖊🛠 Common signs and symptoms of tennis elbow include (with ranging severity):
💥Pain + tenderness on the outer part of the elbow
💥Pain with gripping or even shaking hands
💥Pain may occasionally radiate down to the wrist and hand
💥Inability to hold heavy items
Give this release a go at home:
- Grab a tennis ball (softest), lacrosse ball (medium) or golf ball (hardest)
- Find a wall/door frame
- Place the ⚾️ on your extensor muscle group – Best way to find these muscles is to stretch out your fingers and flicker them up and down, you will see the muscles dancing 💃 in the forearm
- Extend your wrist and fingers (palm facing away from you)
- Apply pressure using the opposite hand
- Flex your wrist and fingers (palm facing towards you)
- Repeat🔃 for 10 repetitions, then move the ball further down the forearm and repeat. Do this 3 times.
