The Japanese's first reaction to kimchi
The Japanese's reaction to kimchi for the first time
The potatoes and corn were particularly loved by the Japanese, but strangely enough, they disliked the red chili peppers. Japan had been conducting small-scale invasions during this trading time, and the Korean peninsula was also high on their list of targets. Japan stole some ideas from Korea when it invaded, including various Buddhist concepts, pottery-making techniques, and even artistic expressions. Nonetheless, a few intelligent Koreans had also managed to save some of the components that the Japanese had abandoned during their invasion. This helped them out a lot, especially for cooking.
