Doorways

Doorways.

I have always used the analogy of walking through a door to express when myself or another reaches a new understanding or goal in life. A new understanding has come to mind, this has to do with the confusion that one may feel when encountering a new door.

At times we are aware of the door as we approach it and from this perspective we are aware that new choices and changes are about to make themselves known. In this way we can in part study and prepare ourselves for the upcoming venture.

At other times we are completely through the door before we become aware of the change that is upon us. We were not prepared but because we are usually already handling the changes almost instinctively, most times we need but carry on with our efforts and let our awareness of this change make us aware of its special nature that we are upon a special path.

Now to speak of the new understanding that I have become aware of involving doors. At times your awareness of the door comes when you are standing within it’s threshold, from this point of view things can be seen of the past and the path ahead with its goals and choices can be seen. The twist (confusion) comes because in this threshold position the door can shift/turn with you as you look back seeing your past actions and choices leading up to the moment and future choices and paths.

From this threshold position all choices and actions can be seen as right or wrong depending on what path you connect them to leading through the door. This position can leave many feeling lost or unsure of themselves. The special truth of this situation is this, chose and walk forward and the path that you have chosen, no matter which will be the right one for you.

This is because the nature of the doors of life, (important changes in one’s life), is that they lead on from where you standing and will always lead to better understanding of ones self and life as it is at that moment. All past and present choices come together to flow in the direction of the path taken and supports the decision as one exits from the threshold along the chosen path.

The confusion comes from the belief that all of the choices and paths are separate and mostly unrelated, when the truth is choices, paths and the door are all connected. Viewed in this understanding there is less confusion and tension associated with the options and the path to be taken. Choose and all will flow together to support you on the path, this is your life and all flows in and through you.
