What does that say about the people who vote and make the ratings?
They are all for-profit organisations, and to keep making profit they need to have more 'customers' so how do you get more customers? CLICKBAIT!
They just make headlines and images that draw attention everything else is secondary. And if a juicy lie draws in more viewers, then it's simple, they just lie. As every viewer consumes a google ad, or another kind of marketing. As the ads are paid per view.
And people are TV junkies. So there will always be brainless people who consume the lies.
In conclusion, President Trump is not calling for anything different than Democrat Leadership in the past has called for. The only difference is that he is actually acting on it.
Trump could have played his game better.
Now that the Demo(n)crats are all against it, Trump could have said OK lets forget the whole thing and save a lot of taxpayers money. But it looks like it always has been the plan to do what Trump did, as Trump is merely a puppet who listens to the master behind the scenes. And as the democrats are now the opposition their role is to oppose whatever the Uber-puppet has in mind. Nobody in parliament has a position, they just act.
