Pair of Shoes

On the left and the right,
Alike, yet unlike,
As a pair of shoes,
We keep the step.

A step ahead and behind,
We take turns.
Fast and slow,
We keep the beat.

As the left or the right,
Apart, yet close by,
We don’t trample one another.
Uphill and downhill,
Smooth and rough paths,
Alone,
Yet together.

신발 한 켤레

왼쪽 오른쪽
닮은 듯 다른 두 쪽
신발 한 켤레가
발걸음을 맞춘다.

앞서거니 뒤서거니
두 쪽이 한 켤레
빠르게 느리게
장단을 맞춘다.

오른쪽 왼쪽
나란히 서서
짓밟지도 짓밟히지도 않는다.
오르막길 내리막길
평탄하고 험한 길
홀로
하지만 함께.
