Effective Curation and making meaningful Comments
This is always an issue when people do not read the blogs and just from the title of the blog interpret the content and make comments. It is very annoying, and it clearly displays that the person who is making such comments is not at all serious about this work and just spamming.
Why should one make irrelevant comments and bring down one's own reputation? There is no compulsion about commenting, one should maintain the sanctity of this activity. There are all different types of commenters, some read in-between the lines, some just comment from the subject line of the post, and some of them I absolutely do not understand why they comment in the first place.
What do comments like "Nice Post", "Interesting Post " "Very Good" "Beautiful"....and blah...blah mean. I can also go ahead and do that on 100s of posts in a single day. If you have no time and patience to curate then please do not, but do not show your level of ignorance and make yourself sound silly. It is annoying when people do these trash things. Every person who is serious here, takes a lot of effort in making the comment and in curation as well. So people who are in the habit of such things should refrain from doing such junk things.
Most of the pictures I use on my posts are from pixabay and I clearly mention source for all of them, the pictures are just meant for visual effects to give some weightage to the content, but then there are some who will overlook all the content, as if it holds no meaning and make comments like, Nice picture. I seriously want to go and bang their heads. Anyways needless to say I ignore these irrelevant comments
Curation is a very important activity in building up one's reputation on the platform, not in terms of the number reputation but in the real sense. It is one of the major activities, even if one is not making posts one can earn with effective curation and when one brings good sense to it, one can also build a good reputation. If we want to grow the platform we need to maintain hygiene here so that genuine people who join find good value in this place and the people.

Totally agree with this point.
We are working on an algorithm with @starlord28 to nullify all such comments count(from WEMA) and also to make this place more meaningful in the context of engagement. Making 100 useless comments per day is nothing but creating confounding nuisance in this place and that also adversely affects the overall engagement space within the community as well as the Blockchain.
We need to be more proactive in our effort to push for healthy engagement & activities.

That would be great @sapwood, Please let me know if I can be of any help. This is one another suggestion that I want to make for the Indian community. I see a lot of post where people mention I got up, I brushed my teeth, I ate this and that and then I slept. Such posts should not be encouraged. I can understand that people want to post something or the other, but it should make some sense. I am not sure how this can be worked out
Yes, yes you are absolutely correct in your observation. Perhaps we need a dedicated setup for the #betterlife content where we need to teach every naive user about how to write #betterlife content. Most of them are basically publishing just for the sake of writing something and then to claim hey...I am posting #betterlife content but not getting support. It does not add value for sure, neither fulfill the objective of #betterlife. The purpose completely diminishes with such an approach.
we need to come out of the kindergarten approach, we have already spent almost a year on #betterlife content. Being a MOD of BOI community we take this responsibility, we need to calibrate our position for sure. Any suggestion to improve the existing state is always welcome.

I would suggest that every week a post should be made highlighting such people, so they understand that why they have not been supported.
It is ok to describe your day, but it should make some sense. I am sure people understand that but they try to make short cuts.
The other problem is that there some communities specially the far east region ones, where there are some absurd vote distribution and we do not even understand their content, and our people look at that and get carried away. I am not sure how this can be tackled. But there needs to be some uniformity and an equal support system overall on the platform, else it's becoming very heavily weighed on one side and the other side is just limping.
Yup. I too have been facing the same issue lately. It seems like people read the title, then look at the images and assume the context of the post. Was extremely saddened looking at the comments on my post yesterday. While the comments such as "nice", "beautiful", etc can be easily identified, I am not sure how I can detect such comments that just assume things.
I normally shout out loud to such spammers and tell them very clearly not to spam. When you frown upon them, hopefully they will improve and stop abusing the platform

I was laughing when I read that line above. That means yours is wors off. I do get such comments like 'nice art', 'nice piece' and take it thst way. All I do is say 'thank you' and move on. But for yours, it's thought to comprehend since yours are mostly articles.
Yes, if it is a picture post I do not mind such comments but on articles it clearly shows they have not read and just to get votes on comments they make such comments.

Its something serious that you have discussed here .One can make hundreds of such comments like nice post ,nice picture etc but of no use. My suggestion to people ,if you do not have that much time to read all posts in the community, read less number of posts but make valuable comments that will raise your level in the community.

@nainaztengra, it seems you are in annoying mood. Anyway there is a valid reasons you mentioned. I am agree with you. As you have a lot of knowledge about this platform, I think many newbies couldn't understand the value of a content. Another thing is right everyone wants to participate in a rat race.

Ohhh no no I am not annoyed when I wrote this, it is just that I would like people to be mindful and maintain the sanity of the platform. If we want to grow we have to do the right things so that we can attract new comers and they find meaning here, and do not think that this is some easy get rich scheme :-)

I'm totally agree with you, people don't read complete post and commenting based on post title. Few People are increasing their post count so that they will be in BOI curation list.
That's crazy, such people cannot go far, it will be a short lived journey for them, because that's not the way to sustain or grow.
