알래스카 야생화 샤프리프 발레리안 (Sharpleaf Valerian) 입니다.

익히지 않은 뿌리는 독성이 있지만 조리를 해서 강력한 진정제와 이뇨제로 사용해 왔다네요.

로키산맥과 서쪽 모든 주 (워싱턴 주에는 흔하지 않고요), 해발고도 약 1,980m~2,745m 미터의 침엽수림, 목초지, 바위 언덕에 피는 다년생으로 6월에서 8월사이 하얀색과 분홍색으로 핍니다.

Sharpleaf Valerian is the Alaska wildflower. Uncooked roots are poisonous, but cooked roots have been used as a powerful sedative and diuretic.
It is a perennial that blooms in the Rocky Mountains and all the western states (not common in Washington State), and blooms white and pink between June and August in coniferous forests, pastures, and rocky hills at an elevation of about 6500 ~9000ft.
