Hello friends,

We are in a new week of the engagement challenge. This week we have to analyze the saying An apple a day keeps a doctor away. Here we can speak about so many health facts. So I invite all of you to read my ideas about the topic.

What do you understand by this statement?

An apple a day keeps a doctor away, this is a very old saying. In the past fruits are cultivated without applying any chemical fertilizer, so the fruits and vegetables are very healthy. The saying explains that eating a fruit a day keeps people healthy. It doesn't mean that we have to eat only apple but the apple in the sentence represents all the healthy fruits. A fruit has number of nutrients needed for our body. So a fruit keeps us healthy.

This statement addresses people and it says that fruits should be a part of our diet. There are vitamins that are essential for our body in fruits. Specially fruits like apples, mangoes, grapes, pineapples, papaya etc.. have a huge variety oof vitamins benefit for our body. Fruits also act as medications for many illnesses. for constipation , fruits are very much needed. Then to improve the hemoglobin level of the human body the fruits like, watermelon, guava, and papaya is important.

What are some practices/habits you do to make sure you're healthy? (State and give the importance in your own words)

As individuals who likes to keep ourselves healthy we always follow good health habits. I also follow my own list of food habits which I think is really necessary for my body.

  • Early in the morning I take a cup of lemon with honey as the start-up. Lemon is a good fruit for the body as it burns body fat.

  • Then my next thing is to have a shower and make my fruit salad or fruit juice for the breakfast. That fruit salad or juice contains mango, watermelon, apple, and pineapple, and mostly I add a few spinach as well. To the fruit juice, I add some almonds, dates as well.

  • Then in the evening also as a snack, I usually have a few dates, an apple or an orange, or a banana.

  • Apart from this during the day I drink about 3 liters of water. Water is a good medicine for most illnesses as well.

By doing these habits and following these food habits I get a lot of nutrients needed for the day from these fruits and the amount of water I drink.

How did you discover these activities? Did you discover the activities/habits by yourself or someone told recommended them to you?

I watch youtube and listened to the interviews of doctors. There are many doctors who recommend the diet that I'm following now. Accordingly I planned for a diet full of fruits and vegetables and less carbohydrates. After starting this method of food habits I felt a difference between the previous me and the present me.

So then I shared this with my family members. Specially my sister who loves following diet plans also joined with me and then my mother too. We all now follow a very good diet plan which has the priority for fresh fruits and vegetables. Those who suffer from different illnesses I advice to follow my diet and they also are now following my diet plan.

The importance is not just following a diet plan by also sharing it with friends and family to lead a healthy life.

What are the health benefits of the habit(s)?

There are many benefits that I gained from the habits I follow up. The main thing is I could lose my body weight. Then as a result of the lemon water glass I could lose my belly fat. As you all know I'm a bit chubby girl so I wanted to make my appearance slim. So the aim could be achieved by the diet plan and my food habits.

I had the border line cholesterol level. so after the diet plan I could decrease my cholesterol level as well. My mom and my sister has also lose their body weights. It is a good result I saw after following my diet plan with proper food habits.

Do you think everyone could engage in these habits? Explain

I believe every one of us should follow a food pattern that is suitable for our health conditions and fitness level. There is no restriction to consume fruits and vegetables which are rich in vitamins. So I invite all steemians to monitor your health and fitness level and do follow a proper food pattern and it will make a really good change in your body physically and mentally.

@nadeesew, You start your morning in a very healthy way, lemon with honey strengthens the waterproof system, I consume lemon with garlic every morning.

I would also love to add honey but here in our city it is very difficult to get pure honey, most of it is mixed.

That breakfast that you name of fruits and nuts is recommended by doctors because of the large amount of nutrients it has.

Ideal to start the day with energy, plus it is a fat-free breakfast.

I see that your dinner is very light, according to some doctors, dinner cannot be excessive to better sleep.

Regarding consuming water during the day, it helps to hydrate our cells and purify the body.

I drink a lot of water during the day, at least 2 a day, sometimes I drink tamarind water, which is also a good cleanser for the body.

You made an excellent decision to eat healthy and you are already seeing the good results, you feel better in health and you have lost weight.

I loved your eating habits, dear. I wish I could eat the same way everyday.
Here, fruits are expensive, so we don't almost have fruits in our diet, except for the bananas that grow in our trees; and sometimes we have some juice from the fruits we grow in our backyard. We have mango trees and passion fruit trees. We have a neighbor who has lemon trees, but it happens that I am allergic to lemon, so I pass from it. Very nice post!

I was richly taught today about the whole topic. Apple in the statement is a figurative word for all fruits as you rightly explained. I must say you have good healthy habits too. I guess I would try the lemon juice as you always do. I do the water therapy though.
