#BeerSaturday: A Brewery tour with WifePoints©!
Rarely, in the life of the STEEM Beerologist, does an opportunity present itself that promised glorious beer AND wifepoints. Lemme show you some of the beers I shared today with my better half.

One of the neatest regional craft breweries has to be Cowbell Brewing https://cowbellbrewing.com/. A couple years ago, it didn't so much pop up as it did proudly announce its opening with the huge and fancy facility in a rural area. I am not sure what was in its location before as I never had a reason to visit Blythe Ontario, but it looks almost as though is lives in a former cow field. Not anymore though as the place is fantastic, and the beer.....lemme show you.
Nice touch with the beer having its own menu and booklet as one might expect at a brewery. We get many of these brews in the stores about an hour's drive away including the Absent Landlord country kolsch, Perdue's red ale, wheat beer, honey brown, and the session series ones. I regularly add a Boxing Bruin IPA https://cowbellbrewing.com/beer/doc-perdues-boxing-bruin as it is a nice sweet, consistent hoppy beer.
I personally like to judge a brewery by its standard IPA. When onsite, it is so neat to have it fresh out of the keg so that you can see if it is much different than the version that is stuffed in cans, bumped down the road, and sits on a shelf. I have had the Boxing Bruin on tap here a few months ago when I scouted this place for a date night with my better half. Not bad at all and very similar to the stuff that gets to the local store which is nice.
What I REALLY enjoy is the playground, seasonal or one-off beers you can only get onsite. This one is Hazy Days hazy juicy IPA. Apparently, it is so hazy they had to say it twice in the name but it is equally as juicy. Reminds me of the Mango Hazy IPA I had last time and took away a delicious growler https://www.cowbellbrewing.com/beer/025-mango-hazy-ipa. Just no mango but all the taste and sweetness.
My better half had the beer adventure on this day. Apparently, there was 3 suggested flight options but you don't need to roll the dice when you have a Beerologist with you. I know the best ones will be without too much malt or hop, wheat beer would work, and maybe something light with a flavour added. Right!
This Custom Zeke Flight features:
- Kelly's Contraption: New World Hefeweizen - https://www.cowbellbrewing.com/beer/kellys-contraption - Fancy name for wheat ale
- Absent Landlord: Country Kolsch - https://www.cowbellbrewing.com/beer/absent-landlord - A good farm house ale she needed to taste for the first time on tap.
- Coconut Kolsch - /\ Like that with coconut.
- McNall's Mission - honey brown ale - https://www.cowbellbrewing.com/beer/mcnalls-mission - More of a nut brown than a honey brown in my opinion but tasty and not too much malt for light beer lovers.
In the end, the winner was the honey brown with coconut kolsch as honourable mention/could only have one of these at a session.
From the bar, when paying for our food and drinks, you get the option to pick some beer to take home from the bottle shop and pay with your meal. Nice paper packaging and we had our beer for the rest of the weekend. Absent LandLord https://www.cowbellbrewing.com/beer/absent-landlord for her, and, for me...
Hazy Days: Hazy Juicy IPA - I am enjoying this one as I finish off this blog. Damn tasty and I would have taken home a growler except for the $20 deposit and the availability in cans. So damn good.
They truly had me at Mosaic and Galaxy, then finished me off with tropical, and whirlpool/ferm/dry hopping trifecta. That last paragraph is deliciously redundant.
Followers who have paid attention know that I like an efficient use of the label real estate. Cowbell has managed to include a full-size logo, almost TL:DR description, AND a neat little chart with pairings, tastings, and stats of all sorts. This beer has everything.
I may package up the date night meal in a @tasteem review for #steemfoodtours . It promises munchies, taps, a bit more of the tour and a patented Dramatic Extreme Close-up or two.
Please consider giving my buddy @detlev a follow and making a #beersaturday post of your own! https://steemit.com/hive-187719/@detlev/beersaturday-week-141 Beer is the common global currency along with STEEM afterall so we all can hang in the pub, swap stories, and share the rewards and prizes of the longest running contest on STEEM! 141 weeks already!

Beer and WifePoints!???.... that's not a combo that is often heard together!
The Honey Brown Ale sounds the best one to me! I'm curious to see what they served up on the food side of things!
Ah yes I will have to cut my tasteem and food tours review with the menu and food info!

I could only imagine how good the Hazy daze ipa tastes. Maybe the sweetness would make you drink more. After downing a couple more we could say that you've gotten drunk with tropical fruits.
Ya like a healthy fruit smoothie!
I think they go a little overboard on the exotic fruit descriptions but it is really damn tasty. Down to my last 2 in the fridge!
