Fighting Abuse on Steem, Part-2: Plagiarism and Fraud: @alandchi
Hello my dear Steemians and Art Fans,
Hello dear Steemians and as we mentioned in last post, today we wanted to take a close look at another user whose name was mentioned by @ella the user who was in our previous posts. She mentioned that @alandchi is her brother and invited to Steemit.
He is a user from Nigeria and joined in August 2021 and he was invited by one of his friend:
“I got to know steemit through the help of @paulyoung”
In his introductory posts it is clear stated that the user understand that Plagiarism is not tolerated. But looking through the posts of the user, the Artworks he presenting are all stolen as well as in one posts the text is copied and pasted.
Once again we see the comment from country curator:
Let’s see what the user is posting. Just a short look at his blog and immediately two stolen images. You remember the drawing of Chris Brown that was already in the blog of @ellla too.
The lion is from that website:
The user’s image still containing the signature of the original Artist and you see the Price for the drawing
The original drawing is taken from ArtStation from Sharma Jay:
Original drawing you can find here:
While we saw this cute image that brought us to very long and comprehensive text. In order to do it the person should be one who write a lot but the user normal does not.
Just out of curiosity we checked his text for plagiarism and these are two articles that were merged into this one posts. It is sad to know that not only the Images but the user is copying and pasting the full articles from Internet.
The text is build up from different articles here are the links:
As you might remember we have already discuss the role of country curators last time. Seeing this user, he posted in different communities and one community may not seen the deception in his posts then it would be understandable. But this user posted in few different communities his own but also in #SteemAlive, #Steem Promo, #Newcomer’ Community, #Steemkids, #Account Booster, #Steem Entrepreneurs, #Writing & Reviews, #WOX
Seeing such cases, it is a dilemma how we can prevent it. In my opinion if someone is inviting their friends or persons they know they should feel themselves responsible and should on and off check on those users. I would like to draw the attention of @paulyoung and @ngoenyi, country curator to have close look at this users @alandchi and @ellla.
It is often we just think it is OK is user doing that, his posts received received Zero but when such users know that nobody is telling him off, then this attitude may spread to others.
Once a month all the communities who apply for the Steemit Support Program and would like to receive the support package of @steemcurator01 write their application posts and mention about fighting plagiarism.
Are the communities really checking the suspicious posts and letting the users know that it is abuse?
Once again, I have a question to @steemcurator01 the accounts SC03 to 06 have been given to countries and communities but meanwhile maybe it is a time to circulate them too to avoid such situation and give the opportunity to other communities to reward their users.
Hope you have some stuff for thinking and as always thank you for reading.
Hello dear friend @stef1 good night
You are doing an admirable job; Your commitment to art and our company is truly remarkable. Congratulations dear friend you do a great job.
I wish you a splendid night
You really start to wonder if they really are that stupid or if they just try to keep you busy 😲🤔
Anyway, good job again 👍
I do not think that I am famous enough so that users would be trying tog et my attention :)
This is currently under review...
@steemcurator01 review at my issue too plz recover my hive account i sent all details in email.
With regards,
The whole support system organized on Steemit is helpful for small accounts and for communities on Steem platform.
Good job @stef1 Never ceases to amaze me how people can feel
fine, stealing other peoples art and script. Very sad indeed.
Well done :)
Thank you Diana for feedback, seeing that I have such bad feeling, Internet gave us a freedom but also it gave freedom for such people who like to deceive and it is even easier for them, as they can hide themselves behind decentralized system.
Anyway you are doing an excellent job to expose such people so that Steemit is not overrun with dishonest posts and plagiarism :)
...you did a great job @stef1
In fact, you worked instead of the curators of those countries where these users were engaged in theft.
It is sad that they are not interested in these questions.
I think in our Community we get used to be more cautious and check the suspicious users. I am glad that we have such good group of users who work close together and we have the same aim to support fair users and reveal plagiarism when obvious cases come up.
Apparently it is. Our community deals with works of authorship and this issue is very important here. But I think that moderators and administrators of other communities are also obliged to monitor the purity of posts from plagiarism. This is our common task on the platform.
Para excelente trabajo
Thank you for visiting this post and your feedback :)
Las gracias a ti por tu trabajo
Good plan
Another problem with some communities is the amount of liquid steem they cash out, that would be a good figure to add to monthly applications.
i like the new 50/50 initiative
That would be a large amount of data, but would be an interesting statistic, I agree. Completely support that initiative :)
Que buen trabajo de seguimiento y observación.
This is a very good initiative to improve standards. Good job @stef1. Our favour is always with you!
Good afternoon Stef1 , all your drawing all so active and senseable and you made a good job, keep it up boss
