Fighting Abuse on Steem: Deception and Plagiarism in Newcomers' Community
Hello my dear Steemians and Art Fans,
This post today was a result of investigation that was called by one of the user who noticed repetitive behavior of certain users and that they misusing the opportunity of curators in # Newcomers' Community.
We also would like to call @steemcurator01 to have a look into Newcomer’s community because many simple users now referring to us, as an Investigators of Deception cases.
First of all let’s go to @jamesabby blog

In his introduction post he mentioned the names of the users @paulyoung and @unyimeetuk who are drawing themselves and it would be interesting to hear their opinion about this Art plagiarism:
And this is his statement, that he received an Upvote from SC03 that is triggered by @tarpan
Despite of this Statement he posted multiple Plagiarism posts.
The same time this user posted 6 times Achievement1: Introduction Post and received twice Upvote from @Steemcurator03 triggered by @tarpan.
And that is again the same post 3 days ago, upvoted by who? Of course, by @tarpan who used again @steemcurator03. Despite of that even other accounts downvoted the user SCo03 has not removed his one.
As you may know that the Curators who are using @steemcurator03 account produce weekly reports about Achievement and this user is on such list in the report of @sm-shagor from 2 days ago:
But yesterday the same curator @sm-shagor produced a list of plagiarists and who is the list of course already well known user:
For this last post the user has 0 in payout but not because she was not upvote but because she was downvoted. What do you think who Upvoted this post? Yes, it was @tarpan
Why so many abuse cases in Newcomer’s Community?
- Too many curators that is why users often overseen
- Curators not visiting the blogs of users but simply curating their posts in the Community Page
- Many users producing the same posts multiple times receiving support from @SCO03 account
- Many Plagiarism posts are not checked therefore, the users misusing the Community curation accounts

Thank you for stopping by and reading the post. This is very frustrating to see such situation in the community and that curators who do oversee a lot. Maybe too many curators not good, because people not really feeling responsible for checking and relying on others.
Yes, being a curator is a very big responsibility, in addition, there are many things that must be done to make a good control

this is serious. I sometimes say things like this in the newcomer's community but wasn't sure of what to do. please, curators, endeavor to go through all posts of users before curating. this is really bad that it is coming from new users.
@stef1 you are doing a great job.
I think in general it is bad to have such behavior and attitude people will think that it is normal and where we go from here?

It is interesting to read the comment of the community members and curators, read the comments of them, for me it sounds like people just using the opportunity to create weekly reports to get Upvote either from SC03 or SC01.

Hi @steemcurator01, another post with trick changing the text and making them unrecognizeable for plagiarism search machines. Hope that will help other curators of different communities to be more cautious. Despite of Holiday time such cheaters are not having off:

@sm-shagor for your kind information i have verified his achievement 2 task, because I don't have permission from @Cryptokanonn to verify achivement 1 task.
And you are showing the screenshot of achievement 2 task verification .
Don't you see @jamesbaby's achievement 1 task was verified by other greeter and on that verification 1 then i verified her achievement 2 task.
If you have given Sc03 task then you must be very careful and must investigate that either user has published his achivement 1 task earlier or not.
You can see that here achievement 1 task was verified by @ngoenyi and after verification of his achievement 1 task my job was to check jamesabby's achievement 2 task and verifiy it.
And that isn't over yet again that user published achievement 1 task about 13 days ago and again @tarpan curated, can't you see all that ????
Curators aren't able to see it that same user is publishing achievement 1 task again and again and curators are upvoting that user again and again.
How strange !
I agree that everything sounds very suspicious it seems people do not know who is doing what.
That is very complicated and that also puts a responsibility of the shoulders of others.
If the curator is not checking and choosing posts, then why curator creates a post about Curation with SC03 account and gets Upvote for the job that he has not done?
I think that is not correct, are the other curators from your community do the same?

one question - how many people do finding, investigating and reporting "suspicious" content - does adding some kind of badge, honour or even prize for ones that find users that do not follow rules
