DIY: How to build your own Snowman!

Hello my dear Steemians,

 

What is the specific feature of winter? Of course, it is snow! According calendar, December is the first winter month but it is rarely that we have snow in December. Usually January or February are the months when we have proper snow and the feeling of winter.

This time we have quite warm beginning of Winter and also we did not have white Christmas which real a dream. But it the weeks around holiday were cold and foggy.

Yesterday, the weather forecast announced that on Sunday it will be snow, of course, we were pessimistic about that but when we woke up this morning we saw white roads, our garden and trees were covered with snow and it was like a dream.

What usually people do in winter when there is snow? I do not know about you, but for me it is must to build a Snowman and that was something that me and my hubby decided to do because it was told that later today it will get warmer and instead of snow it will be raining and the whole snow will melt away.

So, what we then did, we got warm clothes on and out in fresh air.

 

First snow and first Snowman

 

For those of you who do not know about how to do snowman, I will give you some simple tips. So what do you need for Snowman:

• one of the important things is Snow!

• the next, you need a big surface covered with snow, it is good if that snow surface is untouched so that you can roll up snow balls

• you need some sticks for arms

• some type of hat: bucket, maybe a hat, we could only find a helmet

• couple of stones for eyes and nose, if you have a carrot that is ideal for the nose :)

• mouth, again anything you find to make something like lips

 

That is a start, next you need a little snowball and then just rolled it over throughout the surface of snow, usually snow is sticky and it will make you snowball to grow.

 

 

Here it is, once it is such size it will get easier to roll the snowball.

 

 

The first snowball should be the largest, because it is a basis, then you should start rolling a second one and just piling one on another one and the last one for head.

Then we just needed some decoration using stones for the face features: eyes and nose, the line for lips. Helmet instead of bucket, you know we live in bicycle city Münster. Also for our snowman you see that he needed to do some cleaning work in garden and has snow shovel, therefore there is a rule "Safety first!" that is another reason why our Snowman has helmet.
