Today we drove to Port Canaveral not to be confused with it’s neighbor Cape Canaveral. They launch the space ships at the cape which you can view across the water at the port. Port Canaveral only launches cruise liners and boats.

How do I describe Port Canaveral? Small, commercial, lots of boats and cruise ships and restaurant decks that call your name for wings and beer!

The ships for most part are anchored in place at their docks. You can see Disney, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean and Carnival here at the port. These ships are massive.

I did notice that the water today was more of a torqois blue color. I think that is because the waters have not been stirred for awhile.

The rather mundane part of the port is the commercial cargo freight and tankers that come in. It’s nice to watch this and the various fishing boats at work.

This picture does not do justice do the size of this boat, but this was as close as we can get for now.

I imagine the cruise lines will take the summer off and see what the fall looks like before they head out again.

There are plenty of large storage facilities to keep the hundreds of boats close to the port. It’s kind of like the storage building you see all over, but just for boats.

The pelicans were hanging around and having fun. Usually, they are very active because the fishing boats come in with their catches and the men slice up the fish and the birds get the leftovers. They go crazy.

As you can see, they let anybody in this place :-)

Like I said, tons of fishing charters go out of of here. They will take 20-30 people out on these bigger boats to catch all sorts of ocean fish.

These are the counters where the men would stand and fillet the fish for the customers if needed. It gets super busy during normal working conditions.

Of course the Tiki decks and restaurants have a variety of seafood, burgers and more.

Hmmm.....I guess if you are really up for a war, I guess you can find a few sharks that are tasty as well. I’ll stick with the Mahi Mahi Fish Taco please.

Spectacular weather today. Don’t try to strain your eyes picking out my boat here....LOL.

The drive home, palm tree lined on ramps and many beach goers out ion full force. Little by little, I see a glimmer or normal.

The part that caught my attention today was that people were “upbeat”. It was like they were away on vacation, even though 90% were probably locals. It’s funny how “freedom” makes a person feel.

Thank you so much for reading.
