Ooh wow... What a coincidence!!! I think we both have same visions as I'm also dreaming to be a pharmacist in near future 😁. I'm also in the last year of my course of a pharmacist of category B. After that, I will be able to open my own medical store or pharmacy. But here I think it is a difference between our studies as you are doing pharm B which is consists of four years but mine is two years only is it true? By the way, I'm glad to hear about your enthusiasm regarding your dream business of pharmacy. I wish you very good luck 🤞

It is really a pleasure to hear this. 😊 So my warmest wishes to the future pharmacist 💐 You are right, in our country, we have to study for almost 4 years to get a B.pharm degree. Then is it possible to get a B.pharm degree in your country in about two years..? Even if we are a B.pharm degree holder in our country, we cannot open a pharmacy with that degree. For that, we must definitely pass the External Pharmacist Examination. After passing that exam, we get a pharmacy license.

That is how we can open our own pharmacy. And a B.pharm degree holder can work as a government pharmacist. But they do not get a license to open a pharmacy. As I mentioned, no one can easily pass this External Pharmacist Examination. It is a very difficult exam. Only a small number of people, like 10%, pass that exam every year. In fact, if I had money, I would come to India or Pakistan and do B.pharm. What are the qualifications required to do B.pharm in your country..?

Well, in my country Pakistan, the course of pharmacy is categorized into two categories:

  • B Pharm (2 Years)
  • D Pharm (5 Years)

In them, the people with B Pharm degree are free to open their own medical store where they can only sale the prescribed and over the counter medicine. Also, they can work under a qualified pharmacist (D Pharm degree holder) in any of public or private sectors.

But the study of D Pharm is quite difficult as it is similar to the MBBs studies with a difference of only one book (Surgery). The people with Pharm D can open their own pharmacy, work in pharmaceutical companies and in the places where the drugs are prepared. Furthermore, they can be selected as a drug inspector after passing a special exam and get a 18th scale job.

I hope it will be helpful for you ☺️

Thank you very much for your informations. After you finish B.pharm, start doing D.pharm. It really helps you gain a lot of knowledge and experiences. There is no waste in learning things in this pharmacy field. All the best dear 💕💕
