Stop Trying To Change People
So many of the most painful relationships, are the ones in which, you're hoping to change a person; who you already know is bad for you, and unkind. Lots of people love the idea that they'll somehow, be able to fix people, and change them into better people.
But the reality is that when you're trying to change a person, who didn't ask you for your help in changing - you're most likely to meet many disappointments. Because people are who they are, they've probably been that way for as long as they can remember.
Your attempts to change them, may yield little fruits, because people display characters and behaviors that are very rooted in their subconscious. Hence, usually people may change only when they themselves want to change for the better.
Thus, you should stop wasting your time trying to change people into what you want them to be. It's much better to search for people, who are exactly what you want them to be. And if you cannot find people exactly as you want them to be, then accept who they are.
Many businessmen make the error of thinking that they can motivate their workers to working harder. But the smarter businessmen know that - all you need to do is find people who are naturally self motivated, optimistic, intelligent and hard working. Hence, you won't have to change a single thing about them.
We will only make ourselves miserable when we consistently try to change other people, people only change when they wish to do so, and when they do not wish to do so, every other effort we try to make wil be in vain.
Perfectly correct. Thanks for commenting.
Hi there @greatideas
Solid read buddy.
My personal impression is that if we want people to change then we shall start with changing ourselfs. And hopefully our change will result with others around us changing some of their behavious as well.
Expecting that others will make changes with their own ways while not putting any offer to improve ourselfs - it is simply naive and won't work most of the time.
This is very different. If someone pays for job being done then such a person may have expectations of their workers putting more effort. Nothing wrong with that.
ps.
