My introduction to the Blockchain Steem through the door of the Steem Greet Community

Hello Steemians!

A week ago I celebrated my 81st birthday with my loved ones; well, some because we are a big family, geographically dispersed in Latin America and Europe due to the political, social and economic situation that Venezuela has been going through for several years. On this anniversary of my biological almanac I had the attention and physical company of my wife, two sons, among them @ulisesfl17 and his son Jesus; two close friends who I appreciate as my children. From several places in the planet I had the light and love of my other sons, daughters and grandchildren; being my daughter @flores39 who is in Spain, the one who programmed my surprising birthday gift with my Steemit account; in this sense I make my presentation through the prestigious Steem Greet Community, worthily managed by @cmp2020.

On June 27, 1939, in the picturesque town of Irapa, Sucre state; my beloved Mother Mary brought me into the world and called me Pantaleon Flores. My daughter @flores39 came up with the brilliant idea that my user would carry the prefix of my first and last name, without diminishing the importance of the emotional family sharing, informing me that as of the date written in this presentation notice, I am part of this growing social and economic project that envisions the best virtual community for creating, publishing and consuming content.

For 32 years I have lived in Maturin, Monagas State; a legendary land that made history because of the brave courage of its population in times of war against the Spanish colonizers who invaded and exploited the mineral and natural resources and cultures of our ancestors for 300 years. I take advantage of this moment and space to send an emotional hug to all the people of Spain, no one can answer for acts committed by their social ancestors, least of all the monarchists.

I am the husband of a wonderful woman who has accompanied and supported me for 65 years. She gave me 10 of my 12 children, seven boys and five girls; I have eight grandchildren, 50% of them girls. As I pointed out above, since nine years ago the members of my family decided to look for a social and economic path that would provide them with better stability and social comfort. Ireland, Spain, the United States, Ecuador and Brazil are sister countries where my heart beats for the presence of my loved ones.

Some have come to visit us, others have found it difficult to come to Venezuela; however, communication and family love is maintained.

With children and adolescents in the midst of the democratic transition, there was little opportunity for enjoyment and recreation that a young person could have in Venezuela, especially if they belonged to a rural and agricultural area like the one where I grew up. My father was orphaned every year and my mother died when I was barely 6 years old; my older brother took care of my protection and education. He was a rigid military man who passed on to me a great deal of his discipline. So I finished school and enlisted in the brand new National Guard, an armed force founded by Eleazar López Contreras in 1937, president of Venezuela.

In this way, I drank the bitter waters of a dying dictatorial state and a system of government that alternated military regimes with the birth of a democracy that was very complicated to govern. After several years, I decided to retire from military life and got a job in the public administration, working as a clerk with a commitment to continue my professional studies. Working during the day and studying at night, sometimes on weekends, I managed to graduate from high school, then got my degree in biology; one of my best times was the experience of studying while working.

After some time, I retired from public administration to work on two projects: agriculture and food trade. I was already married with three children, had no house of my own and it was time for the family to grow in members and social status. So with some savings, welfare money and various businesses for professional services, I bought a house and a piece of land where I started my agricultural activity. In this way, my family expanded. I provided family and formal education to all my children, I received unconditional support from my family in all the economic activities I developed and I felt fulfilled by the result obtained.

My greatest achievement is the integration and consolidation of the family.

I barely have a year that I stopped working the land because my children asked me several times to do so. Their main concern is my physical health, I have some spine and leg ailments. I recognize that I made a mess since I was young when I started to lift heavy objects without precaution and assume body postures without ergonomic measures. Another problem is the looting, not to call it theft, of crops. Young people have dedicated themselves to partially or even totally extracting the product of the harvests in recent years, a situation that discourages me and worries my children. So I decided to get away from farm life on the estate; however, I keep my attention on the small yard of the house. Therefore, I consider it another achievement because I have more free time to share with my loved ones and now in the Steemit Community.

I hope to find a space to share my personal, professional and philosophical anecdotes. They are 81 years old; however, I feel that I am about 45 years old, even though my physique shows otherwise. I would love to express through this medium significant historical accounts of Venezuela, either literary aspects such as those lived during my military life and in the civil sphere.

My daughter, @flores39, is responsible for finding me in this wonderful platform of exchange and creation of content. I consider her birthday gift to be a great achievement in my life, it is the window to a new stage that I start with the right foot from the Steem Greet Community. I would have loved to make my presentation much earlier, I delayed the writing of this publication for health reasons. As a biologist, farmer, businessman and father, I wish to achieve an exemplary success at the Blockchain Steem for one more joy in my long life. Long live the Blockchain Steem! My place of entertainment so I don't retire just yet.
