So this year's leprosy day falls on my birthday. Leprosy have been a desease that is not really talked about,hence when I saw the title I rushed because I needed to learn more about it. All I knew was it was feared and yes people deassociated themselves from people with Leprosy. Now this is me just using my imagination, imagine someone with a desease that shows on the skin,people having little to no proper information about it,will naturally bring about stigmatization to the infected person. Now reading that it is actually communicable makes me fear it the more. I have to come to the conclusion that the people that were not infected just had to create a form of barrier as a protection shield for the fear of the unknown. The WHO need to do more in educating the public about Leprosy cos many of us believe Leprosy is an old disease that we read in the Bible and hear on tales,it sounds like an old imagined sickness. Thank you for educating us more on it and drawing our attention to it. Cos Google here I come
