Do you have or have you had any of these diseases, anxiety, depression or bipolarity? How did you realize it?

Mental health is a huge area that is still remaining one of the most serious fields but the same time that we people do not take seriously enough.

I remember that in the past depression was not a health problem but people thought that people just people sad and any time can be changed if they want. I remember there was no medication for that and such people were left for them to suffer alone. There were many who were not able to cope and committed suicide. Later on when I started to work as a doctor I met many patients who admitted that it was completely two different world for them and when they were depressed they it was like they had no interest in anything even their family, nothing could make them happy. But once they had treatment anti-depressive they felt like they were waken up from a deep nightmare and even they could see themselves like from the side. Many said that without treatment they would never be able to come back to their normal life again.

What method do you use to calm anxiety since it is a disease that makes us overthink too much, how do you manage to channel those thoughts?

My grandmother when she was ill and needed a surgery, she was very anxious and since she heard about surgery she was not able to sleep and became very nervous. We then visited her every day it was summer so we spend much time in garden, she loved her gardening and I must say the best was to plant beautiful flowers and herbs for cooking. Such activities made her to come down, but in think the fact of having her grandchildren was something that made her anxiety better.

I think it is important to recognise the problem early and also to be for those people, it is often hard for our relatives and they usually deny that they need help but we have to be insisting and be patient and loving.

Depression and bipolarity are silent diseases, we only realize it when we see the changes in mood. Do you think it should be treated psychiatrically and take medication or is there a natural way to do it?

I think such condition like bipolar and depression should be treated by specialists and that is a psychiatrist. The treatment is complex including regular conversation with the patients and also there should be treatment with medication. I have seen many people who had treatment and who did not have and I must say those who had they definitely have better quality of life and enjoying being back to their family and being able to do everything like other people.

Do you think that staying active, whether it is working or doing any activity, helps or keeps you away from these diseases?

Anxiety and depression is often possible to improve through the active involvement in the life of society, your school, neighbourhood. Also, to have friends and to be close with families, visit different clubs and be active at work and everywhere. On other hand such mental health like bipolar, multiple personality disorder schizophrenia would definitely benefit from medication treatment.

I would like to invite following users @dequeen, @memamun, @sitaraindaryas for the contest.
