Day 872: 5 Minute Freewrite: Tuesday - Prompt: nail polish

Any time I see bottles of nail polish at yard sales I buy it, but I do not use it on my nails. We use it when we put new eyes on our fishing rods it is good to put over the line that we tie the eyes on with. When we make jigs we use it to paint the heads or to put over the line we tie the hair on with. It keeps the line from untying and it keeps the end piece down.

I had a crappy day, my husband was going to fish the Big Flat and I told him I was going to the inlet. I get to the inlet and first thing I skipped two pompano but the water was the color of milky mud from all of the wind we have had. My husband texts me and said he lost a big one, I told him about skipping the two. A few minutes went by and I get another text he lost another big one, he says 40 dollars gone just like that. The next thing I knew he was at the inlet, I see him anchor and catch one, I still have not had a bite. I pull my anchor and wander, finally, I skip another one and anchor still I catch nothing, he texts me saying he has 4, I am like wtf!!!! I wander some more anchor nothing, wander anchor nothing, are you seeing a pattern here? By now he has 12 but they quit biting for him. He goes to coconut, I stay, wander and anchored, holy crap I catch one. He texts me and said he has 6 at coconut. I stayed about 30 minutes and did not catch anything else so I go to coconut. I anchored south of him and caught 6. woo hoo.

I ended up with 7 pompano and 1 sheepshead that weighed 20 pounds. my husband had 22 head that weighed 60 pounds.

This is a sheepshead, you can see why it got the name.
