Day 870: 5 Minute Freewrite: Sunday - Prompt: wool sweater
This is my post for #freewrite Sunday prompt wool sweater hosted by @mariannewest
We have had a few cold days but all in all this winter has not been that bad for cold weather, I hope that statement does not come back and bite me in the ass. Come to think of it we have had mild winters for the last 5 years, I am not complaining but I am guessing we are due for another one. I do not own a wool sweater but I do have a pair of wool socks, why or how I came about having these socks I do not remember but if I had to guess I would say my Mother came across them and thought of me.
These ferns have taken over my flower area I did not plant them here I guess their spores landed and took off. So I spent all day pulling them up, I know I did not get all of their roots but maybe I can keep them in check.
One weed I have plenty of is carrot weed and I am not sure why but when I pull one up, I am in love with its roots.
I planted this orchid tree 10 years ago for my Grandson that did not make it into this world. Every year I place something on it. I am not sure why I miss someone that I never knew but I miss him and putting things on this tree makes my heart feel close to him.

We did not only had mild winters in the past five years. It's a circle of a lot of rain (water pump drowns), very cold (water pump gets frozen and broke), less rain (we do not need to walk four times or more a day for 5 miles through the mud and leave the car behind) and something in between. It's a circle of about 4 years and only my first water pump made it for 7 years (drowned) since that moment I need to buy at least one a year or even two.
Pity of the ferns I wish I had them here.

@wakeupkitty That is terrible that you have to buy so many water pumps, here they are very expensive, somewhere between 2 and 3 hundred. I was at a store today and they had ferns for sale for 14.98 each, if I could get that much for them I could have sold them and made a small fortune.
Ferns cost at least that much with us too. Waterpumps is the same. If I am lucky I can buy one on sale. Expensive or cheap they get broke anyway. We switch off the electricity if we don't need water. I hope the water pump has a longer life this way. I believe if there's not enough water in the well it keeps running too and gets burned.
Perhaps you can sell your ferns for half the price 😁
@wakeupkitty I hope that works to save your water pump. When I grew plants to sell I sold ferns for 5.00 they were not a big seller.
With us ferns always are. The prices asked are high and people pay it. Perhaps they have more faith in the flower shop. I have less faith in them and no longer buy plants and flowers. Most of it dies. Because of a lack of water or wolves running it over and pulling it out. I let nature taking over more. 💕
