There’s absolutely nothing fancy about my day. I mean, It is just an ordinary day. But there are lots of reasons to face the rising sun. Workloads are always in my way.

Breakfast;

My daily mundane started up with a cup of coffee to alleviate my soul a little and to give some energy. I am a coffee lover and having a cup of coffee makes me feel a bit relaxed. To be honest, I can't imagine my day without a coffee. It's either I partnered it with egg and bread, but this time I have a bowl of fried rice. I was recycling my leftover last night. It is not a good idea to waste food this time since there are a lot of people in hunger right now.

Lunch;

At lunch, I bought food in a convenience store. I've got this bun or we call it “siopao” in our dialect and a small bunch of vegetable salad. I also got some nuts like almonds, cashew nuts, and raisins. Again, I have a cup of black coffee. Most of the time I used to have my meals in the convenience store. Most especially if I get tired of cooking or I'm in a rush.

Dinner;

My Filipino friend invited me to have dinner with them. As I arrived at their residence I help them cook an authentic exotic Filipino Food “paklay”. For those who are not familiar with this dish, the main ingredients of " paklay" are the innards of cows, pigs, or goats. Just be sure to clean or boil it to get rid of the unpleasant smell.

I was not able to document the ingredients and the procedure since as I arrived at the venue, it is almost cooked. What I did, I just taste and seasoned it with salt and pepper. They bought those innards in a Pakistani store. It is not available in a Japanese supermarket. I guess the Japanese don't consider it food yet or just my opinion.

Lapia Mall

Last Sunday, I was at the Lapia Mall to have some groceries and my daily necessities. I intentionally go to this store every weekend even though it is quite a little far from my apartment. It has an international stall that displays some of my favorite Filipino food.

On the Filipino food lane, I've got this Pampanga Toccino (our family's favorite) and Daing na Bangus (marinated milkfish). Good thing, there are already Filipino products here in our place. Although it is a little expensive, it's just ok as seldom only will I satisfy my cravings. These Filipino products were just displayed a few months ago and it made me excited to visit them.

ItemPrice
Toccino¥798
Bangus¥1,180

For the two items that I bought I paid 2,139 yen including tax. Its a bit expensive, but of course, before those foods are exported to Japan, it adds to its fees the manpower, and everything needed to be settled, that might be the reason why the price multiplied many times.

After going to this Filipino stall, I went to the grocery area to buy my daily needs.

I paid a total of 2,731 of my groceries. Sorry, I can't give the details because it is written in Japanese. I've got back home after my grocery. Again I work in communities, doing some updates, checking, and curating posts. And it makes my day.

Thank you so much for reading my story today, till on my next Food Diary and My Shopping List entries.

We have something similar to paklay in Venezuela: we call it mondongo when it's a soup (trippa soup in English), or callos when it's more like a stew, name inherited from Spain. I don't eat this, but my husband loves it.
I enjoy the trip through your post, @juichi. Thank you so much. Nice pics :D

Thank you for dropping by friend, I think the origin of “Paklay” is from Spain.
