SEC WK2 : The language in my country

Seeing this challenge I thought it is a good opportunity to present this little country that always strive to be independent for many centuries but until now it is still a part of UK. Scotland is a large country and has a long history that is located in northern part of UK and also has some islands extending up to the North.
The country has its distinct features and when I was a child I thought that Scotland is completely separate country with Scottish language.
When we talk about the country, there are few specific features that people can recognise the nation just seeing them:
- Scottish tartan, that is a patterned cloth that has different coloured lines, there are many clans in Scotland and they have their own pattern, that is an old recognition element
- Loch Ness, first of all, Loch means a lake, that is a freshwater lake, located in Highland the place has similar name and nowadays a favourite tourist place.
- the next one is a bagpiper, that is also very typical Scottish element
The main language is English but also Scots and Scottish Gaelic languages. Depending on the area where people live, certain language is used. We live in South East close to Edinburgh that is why it is mainly English languages.
The Western part that is close to Ireland therefore the Scottish Gaelic language is very popular there, as well as far in northern part on Islands. Scots is very popular modern language and used starting in some schools too.

While being a doctor I meet patients from different countries and it is good to be able to speak to patients in their own languages, that usually helps to create a trustful atmosphere. Often patient do not want that their health issues discussed via other people therefore, when they hear that a person speaks their language they happy. These are my languages that I am fluent in English, German, Russian, Kazakh. I love to learn Italian and French, we will see if that my dream will come true.
In order to learn it easily, we need communication with native speakers and that is what is not so easy to get, but I have some books and hope will try to use them on some later stage when have some free time.

On my own language we learnt speaking two languages, at home one but in school other, that is why for me it was normal. Later on when learning more languages it was relatively easy.
In my opinion, the best time for learning languages is early childhood, the reason is because that time the kids are very curious and want to try, to learn and copy everything. You probably know that kids speaking mother language without any accent. The kids also do not argue and just repeat and learn what we teach them.
There are also many children books in many languages they usually have many illustration and that helps too, seeing and hearing, try that and you see that your little genius will be able to absorb many languages without any problem.

Thank you for your invitation. It can be seen from your article that you are a very good person. You are proficient in multiple languages and can communicate with people from many countries. This is very rare in China. Except for some remote places in China, Except for regions using their own languages, Chinese is uniformly used in other places. Only the pronunciation of Chinese is slightly different, but the characters are the same.
Actually two of them I got automatically from my early childhood, that is why it was something that I thought many people do, only later on I understood that I had such privilege and having my siblings helped us to learn them too while playing.
I have heard that the different parts of China speak their own dialect which is also very interesting so that people can recognise where the person is coming from.
Yes, there are more than 200 dialects in China, but as I said above, they only have a little difference in pronunciation, and everyone can basically understand it.

Thank you for reading my post, I am lucky that I came across many languages when I was a child, that is the best time communicating and learning, nowadays it would be more difficult, we adults have to much to do and also probably our brain is not so effective like in childhood.

Yes, many think that Scotland is independent, I think because it is very distinct nation with its tradition and of course, there were many movies about the history. I also love the movie with Mel Gibson, had to cry when I watched that first time. There are still many interesting castles and museum that still in good condition that visiting them one feels like stepping back into past :)
Hello my dear friend, You are a person rich in many qualities, you are a doctor, an artist and you also have knowledge of four languages and through language you also told a lot about your country.
Through your post I came to know that Scotland wants to become an independent country and right now it is a part of Britain. I also agree with you that when a doctor talks to a patient in his own language, it builds trust in the relationship between the doctor and the patient.I enjoyed reading your post.
