Hello Steemians!
It is another great day again. This week is the fourth week of the season 2 contest, and interestingly it also marks the last week of the season 2 contest plus last week of the month. This means that this week is indeed loaded,and it is my prayer that you will receive good news before the end of this week. My name is Kehinde Micheal, and my username is @msquaretwins. In this post I am going to be discussing about a contest topic by steem4Nigeria, "Your dream about Steem/Steemit in your country". I hope you find this article interesting. Happy reading!
How well is Steemit known in your Country? Do you think it's popular enough or there is a need for more publicity?
I hail from Nigeria, a country in the west Africa of Africa continent. Nigeria is known to be part of the top countries whose citizens adopt cryptocurrency. Although there have not be adoption of cryptocurrency by the government of the country. According to the report of Triple A, Nigeria is the fourth country in the world with the highest number of crypto owners. This means that citizens of Nigeria are cryptocurrency sensitized. And this does not exclude steem cryptocurrency.
Apart from that, according to the report of Triple A in 2021, out of about 300 Million people that have adopted cryptocurrency globally, Nigeria recorded over 13 Million as a nation, and this make the nation to be number 3 in the table. This is quite interesting and this shows that Nigerians are using cryptocurrencies.
According to my research on this platform, I will not be exaggerating if I say Nigeria has the highest number of Steemians on the steemit platform. And to talk about the popularity of STEEM or steemit platform in Nigeria, I think it is popular to an extent. But there is need to make it more known to people in the country.
What are the ways you think the promotion of Steemit can be more effective in your Country? This can include special projects you have in mind.
There are so many ways by which the promotion of steemit can be made more pronounced in my country. I will highlight and discuss some ways I think effectiveness of promotion can be achieved.
Sponsored Promotion on Social Media
One of the most effective way we can go about the promotion of steemit in Nigeria is by doing sponsored promotion on social media. Targeting social media like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter will go along way in reaching Nigerian. Interestingly, many youths are on either of this platform.
Promotion Using Comedy
Apart from the point mentioned above, another interesting thing we can do is to get in touch with comedians. In Nigeria, if you want anything to be heard, you just get in touch with comedians with quite number of followers. Things trend more quickly in Nigeria through comedy. We can consider this area and I want to believe that this is a great area to target for steemit promotion in Nigeria.
Using WhatsApp TV
More so, WhatsApp could also be used for the promotion purpose. Someone may ask me, how? There are some personalities that have WhatsApp TV or something like that. These people have considerable number of followers. They can be employed to help in promotion. These people charge people who want to promote their products token. They will help us post the promotion contents, and by so doing, so many people will get to know steemit.
Radio and Television Promotion
Another great way we can consider is the use of radio and television. These promotional means have been put to use in some of our regions in Nigeria, especially in south south and east. These means are also very effective because some of Nigerian Steemians signed up through this.
Big Banners on Road
Apart from the aforementioned points, I also believe the use of big banners which is called billboard will also go along way in promoting steemit in Nigeria. Businesses and big companies use this method to promote their products, and it has been effective over the years. So I believe, if we have billboard of steemit promotion at every strategic places in Nigeria, it will go along way in promoting steemit.
Promotion through Act of Kindness
What do I mean by promoting steemit through Act of Kindness? This is what I meant by that, when we do a lot of kindness, that may be an avenue to promote steemit in Nigeria. For example, if we have strategic date of the month, may be once or twice when a pronounced act of kindness is done, it will go a long way. In that case, some of us that have connections with TV news can invite news presenters, broadcasters, reporters, and journalist to cover the event. Even being a legal work that government has not supported, citizens seeing the act of kindness on news and television stations will be aware of steemit and be willing to join.
Do you think Steemit would be adopted more in your country if the points you listed above are implemented
Yes. I believe there will be more adoption of steemit platform if the aforementioned points discussed about are implemented. But not only implemented, but strategically implemented in such a way that the promotion does not stay in just one place but across the country. If this is done with great strategy, I believe there will be more adoption of the steemit platform in Nigeria.
Although government of Nigeria has not supported the adoption of cryptocurrency, but that does not mean people are not using cryptocurrency. Therefore, the promotion must be done in a very creative way so as to not backfire on the users of the platform.
How have you contributed your quota to the development of Steemit in your community?
I joined this great platform in May 2021. Since I joined the platform, I have always being in support of development of this platform. I have done recruitment more than 3 times on a WhatsApp group that has over 50 number of users. Apart from this, I also have a special WhatsApp group where I have promoted steemit many times to the members of the platform. @obibless, @teeprince are some of the users that signed up.
Apart from this, I also make sure that I joined every activities to grow the steemit platform. For instance, when the club initiative started last year, I joined the initiative and I am doing club5050 which is one of the initiative for the growth of the platform.
Apart from this, I also make sure I joined my voice with that of other Steemians in Nigeria. I joined community which is meant for the growth of the steemit platform.
Conclusion
In this post, I have discussed about the steemit platform in Nigeria and how well it is known in the country. I also suggested possible promotional method we could use in Nigeria to make more people aware of steemit platform. And lastly, I briefly talk about my contribution to the platform which is a way of making the platform grow. Thank you for reading my article.

Nigerians are so much into crypto and I think that is why you guys have a higher record of not only active steemians but reputable ones for that matter.

Nigerians are actually trying in promoting steemit to some extent and some of the states knows about the platform too.but the need to publish steemit to all the state is very important.
