Sorry, I had to read this more than 8 times to understand how this connect and how it relates to the present day.
Some how, it helps my brain trying to process this and mental state.
Sad to see what Steemit is gradually turning into..., I can only imagine how real old timers are feeling now seeing that some of those real values are gone.
But the goodnews is that there is hope in the big Ocean.
There are still herring with ears but very few.

Take good care of them - they are important! Only herrings with ears have the chance to perceive and pass on stories and thus actively steer the fate of the ocean, which is filled with a tiny bit of hope, in the right direction.
Fairy tales have to be cruel so that they burn themselves into the brain and can be told for many generations to come. Whether and how the moral of a fairy tale is recognised is up to each individual.
