My day :Soil testing: Agri-knowledge
Hello steem kids and parents,
How are you? I hope you all are doing good! I'm good tooo. I'm an agriculture student, currently studying is.c agriculture. Usually I bring informative content as Today also I'm here with a informative content but it is based on what we have done! Before yesterday we have done soil testing in college lab by collecting samples from own field. I will explain you briefly through this article that we have done and the way we carryout this operation!
Made with canva mobile app
At first let's know, What is soil testing and why it is done??
Soil testing refers to the testing of the soil capabilities to grow a certain type of a crops. Generally it is done to know about the pH of soil. pH of soil determines does desire crop can be grown or not. As through soil testing we will known about the deficiency of nutrient in the soil and by knowing it, we will consider which nutrients to apply in it.

Now let's come to the soil testing day!
It was a sunny day,We all came to the college. One of my friend from My team, he started saying "Let's do the soil testing practical in the field". My all team members agreed with his saying and we started doing soil testing practical.Firstly, we have taken soil sub samples in zigzag method from the field. Then removing of weeds and destroying of clods is done manually and mixed all sub samples, we just required little samples for testing so, we removed soil diagonally....for 2 times. Finally, soil samples got ready and we moved to the chemistry lab, we made a solution of a soil by mixing with a distilled water in a beaker. Then we dissolved pH paper in it. After 5 sec got reading that our soils has 8pH it means it is alkaline soil.. So we have given suggestions to apply gypsum to our lower batch to make a slightly acidic because not all but mass number of plant require pH range of 6.5 slightly acidic!.

There you go!
I told you that you could do it. 🤛
You even got the eyes of a curator!
This my friend is what posting on Steemit is all about. We read with our eyes, it must be interesting, and it must provide enough information.
I am glad that you are providing guidance to newcomers on Steemit @patjewell. I am also a newbie. Do you have any tips for me to grow on this platform? 😉
I have this feeling that I am unnecessarily highlighting myself in some issues😁 . Should I continue doing this or should I work silently?
@Waqarahmadshah
dear friend
You are doing good work, keep it up for growth on steemit you need to be active and support others by comments, take part in challenges and definitely it would be helpful for growth. The success is not a matter of few days it needs to be persistent in work.
Best wishes
Thank you for your kind words. 😊
As what our friend @drhira mentioned, write, share, upvote, comment and take part in contests in various communities.
It is what I did when I rejoined Steemit and it is what I am still doing.
I also got involved as moderator and curator.
Sometimes it is good to fly under the radar. 😉

Thank you so much 😌❤️❤️
Thank you so much for sharing this quality content with us, I like it that you're writing pertaining to something you have wealth knowledge of, I used to think that only civil engineers used to do soil testing before building a particular structure, but today I've learned that it's good to test our field soil time to time..for better productivity. Good post!
Mine pleasure and thank you for giving your valuable time 😌❤️
