Aging Process; The Shrinking World Of The Aged.👼🏾👩🏾‍🦱👩🏾‍🎨👩🏾👵🏾.

Aging process then, is a process of transiting from one stage of life to another that is, from infancy to childhood, then from childhood to adulthood and then to old age. So, as long as we're alive, we'll all age, not immediately but gradually.

Now, the problem is not that we don't know we'll age or we can't face aging, but it's about the fact that aging comes with a whole lot of problems and one of it is how the world shrinks for the aged. We normally wonder why most of our aged relatives or friends likes attending a lot of ceremonies like funerals, marriage, and among others. Well... it's all because of how their social world shrinks at that age. They usually participate in those ceremony as a way of increasing their social circle and to also feel welcomed by the people they surround themselves with.

Many factors contribute to the reason why their social world shrinks. Some of these include death of spouse and sometimes children, absence of children through marriage or travelling, staying in a village far from the cities, attitudinal isolation, disengagement from grown children and significant others, presence of physical or psychological impairment or defects, change in environment, retirement or resignation from work, unacceptable appearances and etc.

All these separate the aged from the outside world thereby reducing their social circle causing them to feel lonely and left out. Becoming old is not a crime, it's just time that is phasing out for the individual. People at that stage needs all the support that they can get. Each and every one of us will get to that stage one-day, so the fact that it's not you up there today, doesn't mean you won't get there one day.
