Weekly Contest 23 || The Diary Game || Cleaning The Akpabio International Stadium - 11/12/2024

It is yet another round of how you spend your day Diary Game Contest, this time, round 23! I have that pleasure again to join and contribute my day's dairy to the Weekly Contest organize by @m-fdo in the Steem Kids & Parents Community and by extension, the Steemit blockchain at large.

Sit tight as I take you on the voyage of my dairy for the day as it unfold on 11th Decemmber 2024. As often said, Sufficient for each day have it's own goodness, happiness and badness, and of course there is little you can achieve for the day. Once more, greetings to you all, happy to know you are here!

Morning

It's 5.30am in the morning, the cry of the baby woke us up, he was attended to, and thereafter we approach God in prayer. Following that is the usual morning house chores in preparation to move out for the day's activities. My wife and the kid will be going to the office, while I will be on my way to the International stadium, for what purpose you may ask.

The regional convention billed to take place at the Akpabio International Stadium on 20th to 22nd of December 2024 is some days away. To keep this public facility in a befitting usable state for delegates that will be trooping in from different part of the country, there is need to carry out thorough cleaning both in and outside the stadium. So when the call for volunteers goes out, I respond, no wonder I am now on my way to the stadium.

As a volunteer, I join forces with other volunteers to clean the facilities in different areas.

Starting from the gutters outside of fence to the inside, the cleaning is to be thorough because this is the very first time this Stadium will be clean in this manner since it was built some years ago.

The plastic covering the main bow is clean using a crane that lift the cleaner and the apparatus round the stadium.

We washed the floors with detergent thoroughly and then using a high pressure water tap, the dirt were flushed out gradually.

The urinaries and toilets were properly washed and disinfectant applied.

Seeing everyone both the young and elderly joining hands in this work makes it fun. Each time you look through the entrance, more and more people were still coming to join in the self sacrificing work.

Afternoon

The noon break brings to mind what is called "love in action." Most of us did not go with food, but in reality no one was hungry, this is because the food brought by others were shared to everyone. And after the refreshing moments, the work continues. I use the moment to capture some shots of the stadium.

The next place I join was going up to the top floor and clean each rows of collapsible chairs. This is real time consuming.

As a fitness and health lover, I see it as an opportunity to exercise myself. As a matter of fact, as I move from one section from the down floor to other sections in the top floor, I could feel in my kneels the vibration that tells me that I am actually exerting my strength, while so many finds it difficult to get half way.

Being at the top enable me to get the clear view of the stadium and it feels good to see everything without any obstruction. In fact, we're it not for my other family members that will not want to come up here, I would prefer to sit up here during the three days event.

Evening

By now we are exhausted but not without the zeal to continue in the work. Hence, it is now time to return back home. We park our tools into one of our friends vehicle and individuals boarded their bused and we bid farewell to the stadium.

Though the work is not complete, others will be coming in subsequent days that there congregation is assigned till the work is complete in a week's time before the event starts on Friday 20th December 2024.

When I got home, I took a clean bath and without caring to eat, I sit on the sofa and doze off.

That brings me to the end of the day's dairy as I present it in this contest.

What a handful of activities for the day! Really a great memorable dairy!
